Director, Origination - Natural Gas

Position Summary:

The Director of Origination is responsible for leading the development, negotiation, and execution of structured natural gas transactions. This role focuses on creating tailored product and deal structures aligned with customer needs and company strategy. The Director collaborates cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external clients to ensure deals are commercially sound, risk-managed, and receive appropriate internal approvals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with front office teams and potential clients to understand customer requirements and craft tailored transaction structures.
   
• Create and deliver compelling presentations that outline deal benefits and structure alternatives to clients and internal stakeholders.
   
• Lead the drafting, negotiation, and finalization of contracts and transaction documents, ensuring alignment with deal terms.
   
• Develop and review economic and valuation models used to price and assess structured transactions; direct traders and analysts in model creation.
   
• Identify and implement risk mitigation strategies, ensuring proper risk pricing in all deals.
   
• Coordinate with internal groups—Legal, Credit, Accounting, Risk Management, and Trading—to secure timely transaction review and approval.
   
• Prepare internal approval materials and present proposed deals to senior leadership for final sign-off.
   
• Maintain awareness of market trends, emerging customer needs, and opportunities in new regions or product areas.
   

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Engineering, Economics, or a related field.
   
• Minimum of 7 years of experience in transaction structuring or development, preferably within the energy or natural gas industry.
   
• Strong understanding of commercial structuring, valuation techniques, and risk management.
   
• Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.

• Serve as a key point of contact for customers throughout the deal lifecycle.
   
• Ensure all internal processes are followed for compliance and approval.
   
• Perform other duties as assigned in support of deal origination and execution.
