The Director of Sourcing (Trade Relations & Contracting) will provide support and management for biosimilar portfolios. Through a focus on innovation, this leader will utilize their strategic contracting and client relationship/development knowledge to drive contracting opportunities, increase revenue and ongoing contract performance. The Director will provide the leadership necessary to contribute significantly to top-line growth, customer satisfaction and profitable performance. This Director will join the VP and senior management team in executing strategic and tactical activities that will enable the organization to achieve both short and long-term objectives. In addition, by way of the candidate’s prior training and experience in leading pharmaceutical contracting initiatives, the Director will play a significant role in further developing pipeline opportunities and growth strategies that will enable pharmaceuticals to be made more accessible for clients, members, and patients. This individual will be responsible for driving the development of the team culture, engagement, performance, and reputation of the team you oversee. : Fully remote Responsibilities Promptly evaluate all elements of the pharmaceutical portfolio process and work with the Trade team to create efficiencies to maximize the organization’s short and long-term performance. Develop and implement new pricing models to drive growth and economic value. Work cross functionally with trade, clinical, contract operations, IT, legal and marketing to ensure systems and processes are aligned with evolving specialty contract requirements. Oversee new business development through the initiation and expansion of business partner relationships, with an emphasis on existing partner pipeline opportunities and newly commercialized products. Partner with the senior management team to identify and qualify new clients, suppliers, markets, products, and other growth opportunities. Facilitate presentations to business partners and industry leaders regarding contract performance and business opportunities. Partner with Business Analytics on the development and delivery of market insights that inform payer and provider customer strategies, tactics, and product forecasts. Qualifications Ideally targeting leaders with proven negotiation skills in strategic sourcing, category management, or procurement Pharmacy degree preferred, not required 10+ years of operating experience, preferably in a large-scaled, specialty contracting, strategic account management and/or other relevant product contracting settings, highly preferred (healthcare experience desirable and could include any number of segments including pharmacy, biopharmaceuticals, pharmaceuticals, data aggregation, pharmacy benefit management, distribution, and group purchasing) Familiarity with contract procedures and experience working on legal aspect of negotiation process. Good understanding of pharmaceutical supply chain, from manufacturer, wholesaler/distributor to pharmacy, preferred Relationship building and maintenance skills, both with external and internal business partners. A proven track record of success in the executive management of contracting and supply chain process from top to bottom. Current or prior experience as a trade relations executive who also has demonstrated success in strategic visioning and execution, marketing, integration, and customer service. Proven history managing a business development process, which will include a net revenue line, across a complex matrixed environment. Strong contract negotiation skills that have involved the utilization of well-developed analytical performance improvement and process improvement/ measurement principles. 10-15% travel as necessary.
