Summary:
The Director, Pharmacy shall be responsible to lead and implement medication management improvement and standardization efforts across the continuum of care. The Director will integrate and engage with Physicians, Nurses, other health care professionals, and system leaders with the overall strategies and priorities of Baptist Health in the areas of budget, evidence based practice of medicine, standardization, 340B program, medication safety, pharmacy practice management, technology use, advance pharmacy practice, regulatory/accreditation compliance, and improvement of medication use related outcomes while building a b Pharmacy team at the areas served by the Pharmacy. The Director will lead system initiatives to optimize integration between operational/clinical initiatives approved by system P&T committee and system hospital pharmacy services across the system.
Education/Experience:
Graduate from an accredited school of pharmacy. PharmD degree required. PGY1 Pharmacy Residency preferred. Master's or MBA degree preferred. At least 8-10 years hospital experience preferred, with 3-5 years in a clinical pharmacy position required. Minimum 3-4 years of recent leadership and management experience required. For MCC, prior experience working in an Oncology setting with an infusion pharmacy preferred.
Licensure/Certification:
Active RPH licensure required, Alabama Controlled Substance certification required
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:
Excellent organizational and time management skills, preferably with lean process development experience
Strong analytical skills.
Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Flexible and ability to work from broad directions and be self-motivated.
Ability to supervise and train employees, to include organizing and prioritizing work assignments.
Ability to effectively communicate with people of various backgrounds throughout the organization.
Knowledge of HIPAA standards and regulations.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Strong interpersonal skills.
Ability to communicate and articulate effectively with physicians, nurses, patients, guest, and hospital personnel.
Ability to advance pharmacist clinical practice transformation across the pharmacy business units.
Ability to develop strategic direction for optimal utilization of internal and external resources to integrate and optimize medication management process.
