Essential Functions



  • Develops, periodically reviews and revises policies and evidence based procedures related to nursing practice and patient care.

  • Coordinates activities within nursing services related to compliance and implementation of regulatory agency requirements.

  • Analyzes and interprets data.

  • Facilitates regular and consistent communication within the leadership team to exchange information and promote dialogue.

  • Oversees compliance related to licensure and registration requirements of health care professionals and ancillary team members within nursing services.

  • Assists with the coordination of nursing projects and the achievement of outcomes consistent with organization's mission, philosophy, goals and objectives.

  • Coordinates clinical assignments and academic affiliations for nursing education and health occupation students and other disciplines interfacing with nursing practice.

  • Interviews, selects, and assures appropriate supervision and evaluation of team members.


Physical Requirements
Walking, standing, sitting, lifting, and reaching required. Must lift a minimum of 10 pounds shoulder high. Intact sense of sight, hearing and finger dexterity. Critical thinking and ability to concentrate required. Must be able to respond quickly in stressful situations. Must speak English in good, understandable terms.



Education, Experience and Certifications

Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing. Current RN licensure in appropriate state. MSN required. If undergraduate degree is BSN a Master's degree from a health-related program or MBA is acceptable. Must have MSN if undergraduate degree is not BSN. Appropriate professional leadership certification required within 1 year of eligibility for professional certification exam. Previous leadership experience preferred. Additional education, training, certifications, or experience may be required within the department by the nursing leader.
