Job Description - Director Portfolio Acceleration - Hematology

ROLE SUMMARY

The Oncology Portfolio Acceleration (PA) team drives competitive advantage across the oncology commercial franchise by translating data, analytics, and strategic insights into measurable business outcomes. Sitting within Global Commercial Analytics and aligned closely with franchise and field leadership, the PA team accelerates portfolio performance and supports breakthrough decisions across the organization.

The Director, Portfolio Acceleration – Hematology serves as the primary partner to the CEP team, the Oncology Accounts Group (OAG), and the Oncology Account Marketing (OAM), transforming complex market dynamics, field force execution performance, and account-level intelligence into strategies that maximize franchise performance.

The ideal candidate is an entrepreneurial, data-forward leader with oncology experience who operates at both the strategic and executional level. They bring a strong track record of building scalable analytics capabilities, influencing senior cross-functional stakeholders, and delivering insights with measurable business impact.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

Hematology Portfolio Strategy & Acceleration

  • Lead the design and execution of high-impact initiatives for the Hematology franchise.
  • Serve as a central resource supporting model evolution, design, and development for all field-based, customer-facing colleagues within the hematology franchise.
  • Participate in strategic and business planning processes; manage the annual goal-alignment process ensuring alignment with the Customer Engagement Platform and strong partnership with sales leadership and the Oncology Accounts Group (OAG).
  • Partner with the commercial and sales leadership to translate brand strategy into data-informed execution plans that drive competitive advantage and market share growth.

Field Alert Strategy

  • In partnership with National Sales Directors and franchise leadership, develop, oversee, and continuously refine a field alert strategy providing real-time, data-driven alerts to hematology sales representatives through tools such as PinPoint.
  • Continuously evaluate alert performance and patient signals and iterate on business rules to maximize commercial relevance and rep adoption.

Data-Driven Insights, Analytics & Innovation

  • Direct the development of scalable analytics platforms, dashboards, and reports that deliver actionable intelligence to franchise, field, and key account teams.
  • Proactively identify opportunities to drive innovation and partner with non-traditional customers and channel intermediaries; support model evolution, design, and development for all field-based customer-facing colleagues across functions.
  • Lead the utilization of internal and external data assets – including claims, specialty pharmacy, biomarker, CRM, and real-world data – to generate novel insights that accelerate hematology portfolio performance.
  • Champion innovative analytic approaches to identify untapped growth opportunities.
  • Ensure high-quality, timely analytics delivery aligned to business planning cycles, brand reviews, and quarterly performance milestones.

Field Force Size & Structure

  • Lead the analysis and optimization of sales force size and structure for hematology field-based customer-facing colleagues to ensure alignment with business objectives and market opportunities.
  • Collaborate with sales leadership to design and implement effective territory alignments, resource allocation, and deployment strategies across the hematology portfolio as needed.
  • Utilize advanced analytics to assess sales force effectiveness, identify areas for improvement, and recommend actionable strategies to enhance field force performance and productivity.

OAG & Key Account Analytics

  • Serve as the primary analytics partner to OAG and OAM for hematology, delivering account-level insights on market dynamics and growth potential at key hematology accounts.
  • Lead portfolio account analytics supporting Key Account Directors (KADs) and National Account Directors focused on hematology.
  • Oversee dedicated analytical support by developing and delivering performance metrics, market potential assessments, and competitive dynamics reviews to help KAMs identify growth opportunities and optimize account strategies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, life sciences, statistics, or a related field required.
  • 10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or healthcare commercial analytics, portfolio management, strategy consulting, or a combination thereof.
  • Demonstrated oncology commercial experience strongly preferred.
  • 5+ years of demonstrated experience in quantitative and analytical commercial roles.
  • Proven track record leading cross-functional analytics projects that deliver measurable business outcomes in a complex, matrixed organization.
  • Proficiency in analytics tools and platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, SQL, Salesforce CRM) and comfort with data architecture concepts.
  • Strong understanding of US oncology market dynamics including specialty pharmacy, GPO/IDN environments
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to drive, collaborate, influence, and operate across functions, cultures, and geographies within a matrix organization.
  • Strong project management skills, strategic thinking, and experience driving projects
  • Excellent communication and facilitation skills (verbal and written) – thinks and communicates with the audience’s needs first.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MBA, MS, PharmD, or PhD) in a relevant field; MBA preferred.
  • Direct experience with multiple myeloma and/or lymphoma commercial strategies,
  • Experience in management consulting or decision analytics with pharmaceutical/life sciences
  • Familiarity with Pfizer Oncology platforms
  • Demonstrated creativity in development and partnership collaborations on innovative programs; use of technology and digital capabilities.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $162,900.00 to $271,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
