The Director, Purchasing is responsible for developing, implementing and overseeing the proper procurement of contracted materials and services for the Catholic Health (CH), including acute care, continuing care and associated sites. Priority focus of position is on ensuring the lowest total cost for the standard of quality desired and ensuring supplies are in the right place at the right time, in the right quantities. Lead the efforts of the Supply Chain teams and purchasing staff, to interact with other departments as deemed appropriate in order to meet the operational needs of Catholic Health.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in business, or a health care related field
EXPERIENCE Minimum of five (5) - ten (10) years of progressive procurement management experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITY Demonstrated experience in successfully conducting high-level negotiations Strong communication, management, analytical, interpersonal and organizational skills Demonstrated proficiency in financial decision-making Strong computer skills Demonstrated ability in facilitating group processes
WORKING CONDITIONS Normal heat, light space, and safe working environment; typical of most office jobs Travel between all CH facilities
