Director - Rehab Service- (#PR*)

Under administrative direction, assesses, plans, implements and evaluates delivery of patient care with 24-hour responsibility for total departmental management. Provides direction for development and evaluation of all nursing personnel and maintains operational aspects of the patient care unit in collaboration with support services. Contributes to nursing and the hospital through support of philosophy and objectives, educational and research efforts. Accountable to assure that patient, employee, and physician satisfaction scores are all in acceptable ranges. Accountable for building and directing teams to improve core measures and other Joint Commission and CARF initiatives. Has ongoing dialogue with nurse both one on one and in monthly staff and clinical meetings. Is proactive in identifying needs of staff and resolves issues to improve patient care. Supports hospital nursing leadership’s direction and is a positive factor in the department, assuring new initiatives and practices are followed consistently without bias.

Qualifications

Job Duties/Responsibilities Requirements:

• A minimum of seven (7) years’ clinical and/or rehabilitation experience.

• At least three (3) years’ management/program development required.

• Clinical background in physical medicine and rehabilitation within an acute care setting required.

• Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited college required.

• Master's Degree in healthcare related field or clinical discipline (i.e., Nursing or Healthcare Management) background as a licensed Physical, Occupational, or Speech Language Therapist is strongly preferred.

• Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse required for Registered Nurse or Current California Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapists, or Speech Language Pathologist license

• CPI is required within 30 days of hire.
