Today, we are a global team of nearly 7,000 and our main objective is to create opportunities for our team members to explore, learn, and grow \u2013 all while seeing their ideas come to life and celebrating the differences that make us who we are and the work we do possible. \n\nRevenue Accounting Director\n\nLocation: Boston, MA- Hybrid\n\nStrategic, cross\u2011enterprise leadership role critical to a global software company\u2019s transformation agenda\n\nThe Revenue Accounting Director is a senior, highly visible leadership role that sits at the intersection of technical accounting excellence, business partnership, and enterprise transformation. Reporting to the VP of Global Revenue Assurance, this role is critical to enabling the company\u2019s strategic evolution by ensuring revenue accounting outcomes are aligned with go to market strategy, product innovation, deal structuring, and long term growth objectives, while maintaining the highest standards of accounting integrity and compliance.\n\nThis leader serves as a trusted advisor and connective force across the broader ecosystem, partnering with GTM, Commercial Desk, Legal, FP\u0026A, Product, and Systems teams to translate complex business models and commercial strategies into scalable, compliant revenue accounting solutions. The role balances technical authority with pragmatic execution and relationship driven influence in a fast paced, SaaS based global environment.\n\nThe ideal candidate is action oriented, collaborative by design, and enterprise minded\u2014someone who thrives in ambiguity, proactively engages stakeholders, and brings structure and clarity to complex, cross-functional challenges.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n\nEnterprise Partnership \u0026 Strategic Influence\n\n * Act as a strategic thought partner and trusted advisor to cross-functional stakeholders (Sales, Commercial Desk, Legal, FP\u0026A, Pricing and Packaging, Product, and GTM leadership) on revenue recognition implications of commercial strategy, deal structures, new offerings and M\u0026A transactions.\n * Proactively engage early in business initiatives to shape outcomes upstream, ensuring revenue accounting considerations are embedded in decision making rather than addressed reactively.\n * Translate complex accounting requirements into clear, business relevant guidance that enables speed, scalability, and informed risk taking.\n\n\n\nTechnical Leadership \u0026 Governance\n\n * Own the design, implementation, and ongoing governance of global revenue accounting policies, systems, controls, and procedures in compliance with ASC 606 and related standards.\n * Serve as the enterprise subject matter expert for revenue recognition within a Software/SaaS environment, providing authoritative guidance on complex and non routine transactions.\n * Lead the development and maintenance of revenue accounting policies, position papers, and technical conclusions, including evaluation of new GTM offerings, pricing models, and commercial announcements.\n\n\n\nProcess, Systems \u0026 Scale Enablement\n\n * Partner with Finance Systems, RevOps, and IT to scale revenue accounting processes and tools that support growth, automation, and global consistency.\n * Conduct periodic reviews of revenue recognition processes and controls, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, scalability, and control effectiveness.\n * Act as a hands\u2011on problem solver, embedding with operational teams to streamline workflows, resolve issues, and elevate technical accounting capabilities across the organization.\n\n\n\nChange Leadership \u0026 Special Initiatives\n\n * Monitor and interpret emerging accounting standards and regulatory developments, assessing enterprise impact and guiding adoption strategy.\n * Lead and execute strategic, cross functional initiatives such as business unit carveouts, acquisitions, integrations, system transformations, and other complex, nonroutine revenue matters.\n * Drive alignment between revenue accounting execution and the company\u2019s broader strategic transformation initiatives, ensuring accounting is an enabler\u2014not a bottleneck.\n\n\n\nMinimum Qualifications\n\n * 10+ years of experience in public accounting and/or technical revenue accounting leadership roles.\n * Big 4 public accounting experience.\n * Bachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting or related field.\n * Active CPA license.\n\n\n\nPreferred Qualifications\n\n * Deep expertise in ASC 606 and revenue recognition within a Software/SaaS business model.\n * Demonstrated success partnering with GTM, Legal, Deal Desk, Product, and FP\u0026A in complex, high growth environments.\n * Experience with Oracle, RevPro, Salesforce, and related revenue and finance systems.\n * Strong executive level communication skills, with the ability to influence, educate, and align nonaccounting stakeholders.\n * Proven ability to analyze complex data, synthesize insights, and drive enterprise level decisions.\n * Highly organized, adaptable, and comfortable operating across multiple priorities and stakeholder groups.\n\n\n\nPTC carefully considers a wide variety of factors when determining compensation. The anticipated annual salary range for this position is between $175,000 - $215,000. The salary range reflects a good-faith estimate of compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary based on a candidate\u0027s skills, qualifications, experience, and location. Additionally, candidates may be eligible for a performance-based bonus. Employees also have the opportunity to become a PTC shareholder through our employee share purchase program (ESPP), which allows for the purchase of discounted PTC stock. Certain roles may also be eligible for participation in our equity programs.
