Senior Citizen’s Opportunity for Personal Endeavor (SCOPE) 

Full-Time, 40 Hours/Week 

$38,000/Year 

Schedule:   Determined on a case by case basis 

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES: Responsible for providing leadership in Trumbull county for all SCOPE Senior Service Centers as well as serving as a community advocate for senior issues. Oversees general operation and upkeep of all facilities and programs, including policies, procedures, staffing and quality assurance.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: 

1. Responsible for overseeing general operation and upkeep of all facilities and programs at SCOPE sites in Trumbull County.

2. Develops, implements, and evaluates program goals and objectives, ensures the quality of service delivery to the community through monitoring and supervision.

3. Recruits, hires, trains, supervises, and evaluates staff. 

4. Oversees staff development and training.

5. Oversees the recruitment of volunteers.

6. Builds financial and in-kind support for programs through assistance with grants, local resource development, advisory board activity and community education. Oversees all solicitations and acceptance of donated goods and services to the programs. Adequately acknowledges donors.

7. Maintains program buildings, equipment, supplies, and grounds.

8. Networks with other senior centers, funders and organizations working with seniors.

9. Accounts for money earned and makes deposits to appropriate accounts.

10. Oversees fund-raising activities and membership recruitment for centers.

11. Responsible for all reports as required by funders; delegates quarterly reports to program staff, reviews all reports prior to final submission.

12. Complies with agency policies and procedures, COA regulations, federal and state requirements, and educational/certification/registry requirements.

13. Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS:

1. Ability to work effectively with seniors.

2. Ability to work as a team member, model open communication, fair and equitable treatment, and manage conflicts.

3. Experience in effectively utilizing community resources.

4. Must have reliable transportation, valid Ohio Driver’s License and ability to meet agency requirements for driving insurability if applicable.

5. Must be able to meet agency requirements for criminal back ground check (Ohio Bureau of Criminal Identification & Investigation). 

MINIMUM EDUCATIONAL/LICENSURE REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree preferred.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: Experience working with senior citizens preferred.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to hear and talk on the phone and/or face to face interaction required. Must have good vision for close work. Ability to sit for extended periods of time. Ability to travel to provide services in other offices and locations to meet client and agency needs.
