How You Will Contribute:
Reporting to Sr. Director, Services Product Line Management (SPLM), as the Director, Services Product Line Management (SPLM) - Maintenance and Managed, you will be responsible for Lead a team responsible for the global end-to-end lifecycle management of Ciena's Maintenance and Managed Service portfolio.
The Maintenance and managed portfolio include, but not limited to, the following capabilities:
Tiered Technical Support
Repair and Return
Managed Spares and Circular Economy services
Engineering Dispatch
Network Operations Center
Resident Engineering
Preventative Maintenance
Drive strategic and operating objectives, including product line P&L.
Orchestrate cross-functional actions and communications to ensure commercial success.
Lead, mentor, improve, and inspire a small group of Services Product Line Managers as a player coach.
Assess customer needs, product requirements, and market opportunities.
Define product strategies and value propositions.
Lead the development of the portfolio roadmap including launching new services and capabilities.
Own the global pricing and profitability strategy for the portfolio.
Perform competitive benchmarking and ongoing assessment of market performance.

The Must Haves:
Relevant industry/product line management experience with a successful track record of leadership and increasing responsibility.
BS in Engineering preferred, MBA highly desirable.
Experience in the delivery, operations, commercial management, and/or sales aspects of a technology services organization.
Solid technical and business background in the technology services and optical networking industries.
Keen business sense and general management experience.
Strong program and project management skills.
Seasoned people skills and ability to achieve results through cross-functional alignment.
Collaborate with many stakeholders from sales, service delivery, accounting, finance, marketing, service quoting and renewal.
Marketing expertise in product, pricing, positioning, and promotion disciplines.
Persuasive communication and presentation skills.
Continuous improvement mindset
Ability to prioritize and managed time management effectively.
The role is global in nature and will require occasional early or late meetings to support stakeholder around the globe and occasional international travel.
