Position Summary:
The Alzheimer’s Association® is the leading voluntary health organization in Alzheimer’s care, support and research. To enhance and strengthen this position, as well as increase our reach, partnerships and mission impact, we are committed to activating individuals and communities to fulfill our mission across the country by providing community leadership through local Alzheimer’s Association Boards, raising funds for our mission, providing community programs and making connections. These volunteers advance the mission and vision of the Alzheimer’s Association in communities nationwide, working in close collaboration with staff and fellow community leaders to implement the organization’s strategic plan priorities.
The Director of Volunteer Engagement & Boards of Excellence is responsible for consulting, guiding and coaching chapter leaders regarding the Association-wide strategic plan implementation and Board of Excellence initiative. The Director will implement a strategy to grow our community presence with leadership volunteers engaged in Board, revenue and program delivery work, develop tools and resources to improve volunteer recruitment, activation and have effective impact in the community make the Alzheimer’s Association the nonprofit volunteer experience of choice.
The position is responsible for scaling a consistent nationwide Board program that supports the organization’s strategic plan goals and increases community mission engagement. The person in the role will also implement the Volunteer Recruitment & Activation Task Force recommendations to strengthen the volunteer experience for leadership, event and program volunteers and staff, improve volunteer management systems, and deliver customized training on an array of topics. They will also work with field leaders, volunteers, and other organizational leaders to individually coach for short and long-term issues.
This position reports to the Vice President, Volunteer & Community Engagement and is home office/remote based.

Position Grade & Compensation: Grade 512 The Alzheimer's Association’s good faith expectation for the salary range for this role is between $133,000 – $165,000
This position is eligible for a bonus based on both individual and organizational performance, up to 6%.
