Who We Want


Lead the strategy, performance, development, and continuous evolution of the organization’s digital web presence. Serve as the technical authority for web properties, ensuring sites are fast, scalable, accessible, secure, and aligned to business growth objectives. Oversee web architecture, development standards, technical SEO, performance optimization, release management, vendor partnerships, and team execution. Partner cross-functionally with internal partners to translate business, brand, content, SEO, and marketing technology needs into high-quality digital experiences. 


 


What To Expect



  • Website Development & Maintenance: Own the architecture, development, and ongoing maintenance of carsongroup.com, carsonwealth.com and affiliated Partner web properties. Lead front-end and back-end development within WordPress/CMS environments, ensuring clean, modular, and scalable code. Establish and enforce web development standards, QA processes, and release management protocols. Partner with design and content teams to translate creative vision into high-quality digital experiences.  



  • Performance & SEO Optimization: Drive technical SEO strategy including site architecture, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and crawlability. Implement and monitor site performance metrics, leading continuous improvement efforts to optimize load speed, uptime, and user experience. Collaborate with SEO and AEO partners to ensure technical infrastructure supports organic visibility goals. Champion accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1) and ensure compliance across all web properties.   



  • Team & Agency Management: Lead, mentor, and develop a small internal web engineering team (1 direct report + 1-2 contractors). Manage relationships with external development agencies and vendors, holding partners accountable to scope, timelines, and quality standards. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for web-related projects across the DECS team. Translate business and marketing requirements into clear technical briefs and project plans.  



  • Other Duties: Perform additional tasks, duties, and responsibilities as needed or assigned by leadership to support departmental and organizational objectives. 


 


What You Need



  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, web development, digital technology, marketing technology, or related field required.  



  • Minimum of eight years of progressive web engineering experience, with at least three years in a leadership or director-level role required. 



  • Deep expertise in WordPress and CMS platform architecture, including custom theme/plugin development required. 



  • Proven experience with HubSpot and Salesforce/Marketing Cloud integrations within a web environment required.  



  • Strong command of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP; familiarity with REST APIs and webhooks required.   



  • Demonstrated success owning technical SEO and Core Web Vitals optimization at scale required.   



  • Experience managing both internal teams and external agency/vendor relationships required.   



  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders required.  



  • Experience in financial services, wealth management, or a regulated industry preferred.   



  • Familiarity with marketing technology ecosystems and digital analytics platforms (GA4, Adobe Analytics, etc.) preferred.   



  • Exposure to headless CMS or composable architecture concepts preferred.   



  • Experience supporting high-traffic, advisor- or client-facing digital platforms preferred.

The total rewards expected for this role include:


 



  • Starting annual base salary between $155,000 – 182,500.

  • Variable compensation potential (Bonus and/or commissions)
