Description

The Director of Respiratory Services leads and coordinates key strategic development and functional services to support department objectives and organizational goals. Maintains effective and responsive relationships with patients, attending medical staff, and other departments. Manages department finances including budgeting, and control of salary/non-salary and capital investment expenses. Manages professional and clerical staff including day-to-day supervision, team member relations, and staff development.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Oversees assigned department or functional area to ensure it is performing effectively, which may include but not limited to, preparing and implementing business strategy to achieve the organization’s goals, ensuring legal compliance, communicating and collaborating with stakeholders, managing employment decisions and contributions of supporting team members, and managing departmental budget and fiscal success.
  • Oversees the daily operations of all respiratory and life support activities.
  • Organizes, monitors, and coordinates all QA and QI activities.
  • Ensures the effective management and maintenance of current and archived records.
  • Responds promptly to requests from other departments within the operating unit and maintains cooperative relationships accordingly.
  • Coordinates and monitors the development of long-range plans and annual department budgets.
  • Monitors financial performance to ensure budgeted revenue/expense ratios are met.
  • Develops work plans and schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Establishes performance expectations and provides direction, feedback, and guidance to team members. Completes performance evaluations, team member relations and needed disciplinary activities.



Minimum Requirements:

Certification - Basic Life Support via American Heart Association, Upon Start Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT)

Licensure - Licensed Respiratory Therapist 

Experience - Five years of related professional experience,  two years of management experience within a related functional area

Education - Bachelor's Degree in a related field
