JOB TITLE: Dishwasher

Related Titles: Steward, Pot Washer 

Reports to: Executive Chef; Line Cook

Pay Rate: $16-$17 per hour / based on experience

Shifts:

• Evening Part-time Seasonal

Position Summary

Washes and properly stores all cooking utensils, china, flatware and glassware.  

Essential Job Functions

• Delivers and promotes prompt, courteous and friendly service to all members, guests and employees. 
• Washes all wares in dishwashing machine or by hand.
• Polishes all silverware, platters and chafing dishes.
• Collects all trash from kitchen areas; empty garbage barrels; wash and reline with clean bags
• Examines garbage for silverware, dishes and glassware.
• Washes or cleans receiving area and trash areas.
• Sweeps and mops kitchen areas.
• Stores all dishes and other wares in proper areas.
• Stock server stations as needed.
• Clean dish machine after each meal period.
• Performs other tasks such as assisting in food preparation, putting away deliveries, cleaning coolers, freezers and storerooms.
• Trains new staff members.
• Performs other kitchen duties as directed by Executive Chef.

High School Diploma preferred.

Ability to communicate effectively with managers and employees in a fast-paced environment.  

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee is occasionally required to sit; stoop, kneel, and crouch; and taste or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
