REPORTS TO: Kitchen Manager

POSITION SUMMARY: 

The dishwasher is responsible for cleaning all dishes, from silverware and plates to a varied array of pots, pans and other specialty cookware.  

Maintains a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, and preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks. Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.

Removes all trash and maintains loading and receiving areas in safe and clean condition. Stock

plates, glasses, pots, utensils and pans after cleaning. Cleans and sanitizes all food service areas and equipment.

TASKS AND COMPETENCIES:

• Ensures the kitchen has a steady supply of clean plates, bowls, silverware, pots, pans, and glasses. 
• Wash dishes: Wash dishes by hand or use dishwashers
• Sort dishes: Properly wash, stack, and store china, glassware, silverware, cookware, and storage containers
• Stow dishes: Store clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas
• Prepare food: May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed
• Maintain cleanliness: Keep the kitchen clean, including floors, drains, and walk-ins
• Maintain supplies: Stock serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils
• Change water: Change water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels
• Sanitize: Sanitize the kitchen area, including the floor
• Remove trash: Remove full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift 
• Maintaining cleaning supplies stock (e.g. detergents)
• Checking washing machines' operation and promptly reporting any technical/performance issues 

Compensation & Benefits:

• $15      / Per Hour, based on experience
