Dispatch & Logistics Specialist (On-Site)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. The Logistics Specialist is responsible for the coordination and handling of product and supply chain movements for regional company needs. This position serves as the operational link between drivers, plant personnel, sales and customer needs.
2. Employee must be able to perform the essential duties of the position, as outlined below.
3. Plans and executes the routing and scheduling of customer deliveries in assigned regions, with minimal error or need for changes. Verify deliveries reach their destination by optimizing needs in an efficient, timely, and safe manner and routes are completed successfully.
4. Stays up to date with DOT and Hazmat to help ensure compliance with applicable laws, codes, rules, and regulations.
5. Maintains effective communication with all customers, management, drivers, facility personnel, sales, and service.
6. Willingness to help coordinate and assist with procurment and shipment needs.
7. Utilizes multiple means of technology, software, and equipment to assist in route planning, scheduling, and the assignment of work, which includes, but not limited to, hardware/software for routing/dispatch, tank management, and GPS tracking.
8. Answers customer service phone calls and written communications in an efficient and timely manner, resolving issues to the customer’s satisfaction.
9. Works collaboratively with loading and warehouse personnel to ensure shipment targets are met.
10. Arranges and ships products to customers and other regions as needed.
11. Maintains systems and protocols to measure effectiveness and tracking of key performance indicators for routing, dispatch, and customer satisfaction.
12. Monitors and processes DOT delivery paperwork for assigned regions daily and/or weekly, ensuring timely processing for purposes of customer billing.
13. Provide immediate support during urgent shipment changes or plant issues.
14. Montiors load profitabiliy and recommends cost-saving improvements.
15. Provides support for other logistics and operational positions as needed or requested.
16. Maintains DOT filing and documentation needs.
17. Other duties and projects may be assigned.

Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:

1. Require evidence of employment eligibility acceptable to state and federal standards.
2. Two (2) or more years of experience in the logistics field, preferably in dispatching/routing or driver management.
3. High school or equivalent.
4. Manufacturing experience is a plus.

Required Skills and Abilities:

1. Ability to work in multiple technical systems to achieve routing efficiencies.
2. Ability to effectively use Microsoft Office programs, to include Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams.
3. Professional verbal and written communication, with the ability to craft business-related documents, including but not limited to email communications and letters.
4. Must be able to multi-task and shift priorities as needed.
5. Prefer experience with enterprise resource planning, routing and/or GPS tracking software. (e.g., Salesforce)
6. Travel in the position is minimal.
7. This is an Onsite position.
