Dispatch Manager

Job Identification

Review and organize orders to ensure production goals are attained. Assist customers in scheduling loads to meet efficiency and production goals. Direct and assist dispatchers and drivers as necessary to ensure excellent service to the customers. This position reports to the Region Vice President. 

Description

• Verify drivers are scheduled to accommodate orders, taking into consideration other division workload requirements
• Contact regular customers that have not placed an order recently
• Verify accuracy of information and details of orders 
• Communicate, at the end of each business day, with the Operations Manager to ensure that the number of trucks necessary to fill orders will be operational for the next day 
• Report all complaints from customers and drivers to the Plant Manager
• Utilize the dispatch computer for order input and scheduling orders. Always have a current manual system backup in the event of a system failure
• Communicate frequently throughout the business day with other plants and divisions to ensure all customer needs are met. This may require scheduling an order with an outlying plant or division and/or switching orders around to best accommodate the customer. Document all customers you were unable to service and provide a report to the Operations Manager
• Schedule orders and drivers to maintain production efficiency
• Communicate with plant to ensure all extra products are in/on the truck while the truck is at the plant
• Ensure fuel efficient routes are scheduled for deliveries
• Attend pre-pour meetings to communicate delivery requirements and capabilities 
• Must be able and willing to perform other job duties requested or assigned
• Demonstrate ability to lead, coach, and train dispatchers while fostering teamwork, accountability, and operational excellence.
• This position oversees 8 direct reports, who support 8 plants and 90+ Ready- Mix trucks. 

Physical Demands

· Requires sitting for most of the daily shift

· Requires occasional walking to office equipment within office area.

· Must be willing and able to lift up to 50 pounds. (Storage boxes, related office items)

Environmental Conditions

· Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.

· Some office locations are located near a concrete plant, which may result in occasional exposure to construction-related materials. This environment can include, but is not limited to, dust, elevated noise levels, and other typical industrial conditions.

· May be exposed to high noise levels and significant vibrations caused by construction equipment and overall jobsite noise in the field and plant environment.

Job Requirements

• Bachelors degree preferred, high school diploma or GED required
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Customer Service experience 
• Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, and being able to type proficiently on a desktop computer keyboard.
• Proper phone etiquette 
• Proficiently read, write, and speak English. Bi-lingual is a plus. 
• Must be able to do simple math, such as addition and subtraction.
• Must be able to work various hours to accommodate early and late concrete pours Monday through Saturday on a rotating schedule.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with internal and external stakeholders, including:
• Management, supervisors, and peers
• People at various social levels
• Candidates must be willing and able to undergo a pre-employment drug screening and background check. Ongoing compliance is required.
• No unexplained gaps in employment.
• Previous Ready-Mix dispatching experience required. 
• This position is onsite based in our Monroe, Ohio office.
