Dispatcher 
Union Position 

POSITION DUTIES: 

• Coordinate daily package delivery routes to establish run sheets. Help pull packages for established routes. 
• Review delivery runs in DDS and follow up as necessary.
• Work with fleet manager and maintenance team to coordinate preventative maintenance on package delivery vehicles. 
• Work with fleet manager to coordinate Bachman and rental vehicles during peak periods.
• Provide work direction to Wrappers, Drivers, and Dispatchers.
• Be available as the main point of contact by answering phones and responding to emails. Provide excellent internal customer service.
• Safely drive a variety of vehicles delivery merchandise, supplies and equipment to stores and/or customers.
• Load and unload assigned vehicle and properly dispose of all returned merchandise at the end of each run. 
• Use DDMS and map books to route delivery trips in the most efficient and cost-effective manner while ensuring all time sensitive deliveries are met. 
• Ensure cleanliness of vehicle inside and out. 
• Perform other duties and assist in other areas as assigned.
• Attendance is an essential function of this position. 

QUALIFICATIONS: 

• High School Diploma preferred  

• Must have a valid Class B CDL Minnesota drivers license or equivalent  

• Must be accepted as insurable with Bachman’s Insurance carrier considering a Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) and Bachman’s Safe Driving Standards  

• Must have minimum 2 years driving experience 

• Must have 6 months dispatching experience  

• Must have working knowledge of computer systems  

• Able to read, write, and speak English  

• Demonstrated ability to understand, communicate, and provide customer service to customers and other departments, including on the phone  

• Must be able to teach and train drivers and other delivery personnel 

• Must be able to move and/or lift up to 50lbs on a regular basis and up to 100lbs on an occasional basis  

• Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time  

• Must be able to obtain Medical DOT card 
   

Scheduled Hours:

• Monday – Friday, weekends during peak times 

Compensation: $25.65/hour
