Duties

• Coordinate and schedule pickups and deliveries using transportation management systems (TMS) such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine to ensure timely dispatching of freight.


• Utilize GPS and GIS tools to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and improve overall transportation planning.


• Communicate effectively with drivers, warehouse staff, carriers, and customers via multi-line phone systems and phone etiquette to relay instructions clearly and promptly.


• Enter data accurately into systems like AS400 and Transportation Management platforms to maintain real-time records of shipments, dispatches, and fleet status.


• Monitor fleet management systems to oversee vehicle availability, maintenance schedules, and compliance with safety regulations.


• Assist with shipping & receiving processes, including coordinating freight movements with 3PL providers and managing logistics documentation.


• Analyze transportation data to identify efficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and support continuous improvement initiatives.

Requirements

• Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment.


• Strong knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS), Oracle Transportation Management, SyteLine, and AS400 platforms.


• Familiarity with GPS technology, GIS mapping tools, and transportation planning principles.


• Excellent communication skills with professional phone etiquette and the ability to handle multi-line phone systems efficiently.


• Strong analysis skills for evaluating freight routes, delivery schedules, and supply chain data.


• Ability to perform accurate data entry quickly using typing skills on various platforms.


• Knowledge of freight operations including shipping & receiving procedures, fleet management, and 3PL coordination.
