Job Description:

Are you a highly organized, detail-oriented professional looking for your next role in transportation? Cozzi Recycling is looking for a full-time Dispatcher/Transportation Coordinator to join our team in Bellwood, IL. This role coordinates daily transportation operations, supports drivers, manages customer communications, and ensures efficient load scheduling in a fast-paced environment where multitasking and problem-solving are essential.

Responsibilities: The candidate must:

• Schedule and dispatch drivers for daily transportation assignments and monitor load and route progress to ensure timely pickups and deliveries
  

• Communicate with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal departments regarding load status and scheduling changes
  

• Optimize routes and load assignments to improve efficiency and profitability
  

• Track completed jobs and accurately update dispatch software and records; Prepare daily schedules, load reports, inventory reports, and operational summaries
  

• Resolve transportation issues, delays, and customer concerns in a professional manner
  

• Coordinate equipment repairs and maintenance needs with shop personnel and provide roadside assistance support to drivers when necessary
  

• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and safety standards
  

• Accurately weigh inbound and outbound trucks and materials, maintaining detailed records of weights, tickets, and supporting documentation
  

• Verify material compliance with company acceptance policies and coordinate with yard personnel and drivers for efficient traffic flow
  

• Process paperwork, invoices, tickets, and dispatch documentation accurately, and support inventory tracking
  

• Assist management with operational reporting and special projects
  

Requirements

Requirements: The candidate will:

• Have 2+ years of dispatching experience in transportation, trucking, recycling, construction, logistics, or a related industry
  

• Have experience coordinating local, regional, or industrial trucking operations
  

• Have strong computer and data-entry skills
  

• Have excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving abilities
  

• Be able to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment and work independently with minimal supervision
  

Preferred Experience:

• Bilingual English/Spanish
  

• Knowledge of scale operations and scrap metal materials
