Job Description:
NCW is searching for a Dispatcher with experience in third-party logistics (3PL). As a dispatcher you will play a crucial role in coordinating the delivery of services or items to customers or specific locations. The ideal candidate will be well versed in cartage freight operations, customer service and communications, and carrier capacity operations. Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and Optimize Fleet Operations: Manage the fleet of vehicles for efficient transportation operations, ensuring timely delivery of goods.
- Act as a central point of contact, liaising with drivers, customers, and other stakeholders to address inquiries, resolve issues, and provide updates.
- Demonstrate a deep understanding of cartage freight operations, carrier capacity, and industry best practices.
- Monitor freight movement using various internal and external applications.
- Ensure drivers are following policies as it relates to OS&D reports, along with continual enhancements with technology such as mobile applications.
- Maintain accurate records of transportation activities, update relevant databases, and track shipping and receiving schedules.
- Work closely with other departments to optimize transportation processes and improve overall efficiency.
Qualifications:
- 3-5 years of relevant experience in dispatching, preferably within the freight forwarding or 3PL industry.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to routinely meet deadlines.
- High level of resourcefulness and imitative.
- Ability to operate a forklift safely and efficiently.
- Proficiency in using phone systems and computer applications related to dispatching and fleet management.
- Knowledge of 3PL operations.
- Knowledge of warehouse operations.
- Ability to make quick decisions in a fast-paced environment.
- Collaborate effectively with colleagues and contribute to a positive work environment.
