Dispatcher, Kansas City MO

Job Overview: The Drayage Dispatcher is a vital member of the Operations team within RMG. The Drayage Dispatcher is responsible for the facilitation and documentation of trucks entering and exiting the facility. The operations are fast paced and require individuals to effectively document and communicate when handling gate transactions. The Drayage Dispatcher must ensure that the expected containers and products are entering and leaving the yard to best assist and support the successful onward movement of customer cargoes.

Key Job Duties:

• Follow all company safety policies
• Regularly interact and facilitate communication between individuals within the operation, especially OTR and Shag Drivers
• Verify incoming and outgoing container inventory, assuring the right containers are entering and exiting the facility
• Communicate with customers, drivers, and management to ensure the daily plans are communicated
• Operate the scale at the gate and record resulting weights in system
• Take and test product samples and communicate results to operations when needed
• Determine OTR routes and work schedules
• Consistently communicate with the leadership team regarding any changes that customers request or make
• Perform other administrative duties assigned by leadership
• Perform rail billing
• Perform other tasks assigned by leadership

• Highschool diploma preferred
• Minimum 2 years experience with data input and report generation. 
• 1 year experience in dispatching/agriculture/intermodal operations preferred
• Basic math

• Time management
• Experience with Microsoft office products, terminal operating systems, SharePoint or google drive
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
