Distibution Engineering Manager

Qualified applicants will have the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:

• Experience in distribution electric system design, planning, or staking


• Residential and Commercial experience.


• Knowledge of Right of Way, easements, and permitting requirements.


• Supervisory experience with a history of leading a team through change
  
  
  


• Demonstrated experience with Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies


• Excellent leadership, communication, and project management skills


• History of continuous learning

Preferred additional knowledge, skills, and abilities (not required):

• Experience working with tribal governments and the BIA


• Experience with NISC (National Information Solutions Cooperative)


• Experience with Oklahoma Corporation Commission


• Road moves and DOT


• Pareato analysis
  

Summary of Duties:

• Responsible for the planning, design, and oversight of the Cooperative's electric distribution system.


• Directs and manages the engineering staking department.


• Maintains electronic staking infrastructure


• Updating staking units to current RUS standards


• Ensures all employees are adequately trained and maintains a good working relationship with other departments.


• Assists engineering consultants with the development of long- and short-term planning associated with all major system distribution line improvements. 


• Develops and maintains all Joint-Use Agreements

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Technology, or other related field.


• Training in electrical technology is strongly preferred.


• 3-5 years in a position with actual engineering responsibilities required.


• 5 years progressive experience in electrical utility engineering, with 2 year in a supervisory or leadership role, preferred.


• Experience in engineering fields of electric distribution design and Short/Long Range Planning strongly preferred.
