ADVERTISING TITLE: DISTRIBUTED COMPUTER SYSTEMS ANALYST


This open competitive advertisement is for a Career Service position located at Franklin Correctional Institution in the Field Technology Services Department. This position reports to Central Office in Tallahassee, FL.


The purpose of the Distributed Computer Systems Analyst is to ensure reliable operation, maintenance, and support of computer systems, networks, and related technologies across multiple Department sites, enabling staff and programs to function efficiently and securely while coordinating with other agencies and providing technical assistance for specialized programs and devices.


This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.


JOB DUTIES:



  • Provides technical support for computer systems and networks at various Department sites, including institutions and offices.

  • Plans, designs, installs, and troubleshoots local and wide area networks, connecting computers and maintaining network documentation.

  • Installs and supports computer hardware and software, manages system backups, recovery, and troubleshooting.

  • Coordinates with other Department areas and agencies to resolve data processing issues and helps maintain equipment inventory.

  • Supports VoIP phones, mobile devices, education, and re-entry programs, and is available for on-call technical assistance.

BACKGROUND SCREENING REQUIREMENT


The Florida Department of Corrections requires all job applicants and volunteers to pass a Level 2 background check as per Chapter 435, Florida Statutes. This check must be completed before they can start working or volunteering.
