Distribution Center Associate

The Distribution Center Associate accurately receives, picks, transfers, packages, kits or assembles product and materials needed to process orders by customers. In addition to physical product handling and preparation, the Distribution Center Associate is required to perform system and non-system related administrative and processing tasks associated with receiving, shipping, and inventory management of finished product and materials.  Accountable to abide by company code of conduct, safety, security, and import/export policies.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Receives and verifies daily finished product deliveries.


• Unload by hand or with lift truck and deliver to receiving quarantine area, check due dates, package counts, and check for damage, and enter information into system.


• Coordinates with buyers and finance on damages or discrepancies.


• Distributes incoming materials into stock locations and updates system.


• Maintains monthly files of receiving paperwork.


• Assist with tracking of incoming shipments


• Pick, pack and processing of shipments.


• May be responsible for preparing pick lists.


• Locate product and pick in accordance with established procedures and pick list.


• Package, label, kit, and/or assemble orders and materials.


• System processing of shipments in QAD and carrier’s shipping software to invoice shipment and generate all shipping documents and tracking to accompany the freight.


• Assist with shipment staging and loading as needed.


• Inventory management/maintenance.


• Perform material moves, consolidations, and associated system transactions as required.


• Perform regular cycle counting process and system entries as directed.


• Assist with maintenance of inventory at 3rd Party Warehouse.


• Assists in maintaining materials/packaging inventory.  Places orders with buying team.


• Handles parts and returns shipments to contract manufacturers.


• Ensures dock, warehouse, and processing station areas are clean and organized basis 5S standard.


• May be assigned to module programming stations. 


• Participate in workgroup and other team activities for the purpose of self-improvement and improving warehouse operations and related business functions. May help train warehouse employees.


• Adheres to quality and safety systems or maintenance of quality and safety standards.

REQUIREMENTS

• Good organizational, communication, and math skills


• Basic computer skills


• Data entry experience


• Attention to detail


• Must have good or corrected eyesight to ensure quality of work


• Ability to lift 40 pounds on a regular basis


• Ability to operate lift truck, pallet jack, and other manual or automated packaging equipment


• Ability to learn quickly, works reliably and accurately, and performs well as a member of the Distribution Center team

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

• High school diploma  or equivalent preferred


• 2-5 years of related warehouse experience preferred


• Fluent local primary language (written and oral)
