Job Description - Distributor Sales Representative

Eaton\u2019s North American Sales division is currently seeking a Distributor Sales Representative to join the team. This role may be based out of our office in either Lewiston, ME or Franklin, MA, and will cover the northern New England territory, including Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Relocation assistance is available for candidates living outside a 50-mile radius of either office. This exciting opportunity provides responsibility for growing distributor stock sales and residential contractor sales in a dynamic New England territory. It also provides ownership of evaluating and optimizing inventory levels while training distributors on internal tools.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do:\n\nThe primary function of Senior Distributor Sales Specialist is to manage and demonstrate strong knowledge of the assigned channel partners within the territory to increase sales in the local marketplace and provide sales and technical assistance. This position will be responsible for directly interfacing with distributors within their territory by providing a variety of sales support and administrative services in inventory management. \n\n\u2022 You will be responsible for managing growth in distributor stock sales and residential contractor sales for the Northern New England (VT, NH, ME) territory that is very dynamic in terms of distributor complexity, volume of locations, and territory size \n\u2022 You will partner with regional channel director, sales engineers and sales manager/director on a territory channel strategy and plan each year; and effectively execute this plan against set targets \n\u2022 You will continuously support customer issue resolution \n\u2022 You will make recommendations to management and channel director to increase effectiveness of initiatives and programs \n\u2022 You will track and measure distributor and residential contractor growth using sales reporting tools and review stock levels with each channel partner on an on-going basis. \n\u2022 You will strategically evaluate and optimize inventory at assigned distributors to ensure adequate levels of standard control and DE products to maximize sales. You will make recommendations on product changes, layout changes, and stock levels to optimize Eaton\u0027s position. \n\u2022 You will independently develop and implement action plans targeted at YOY growth and agreed performance levels. \n\u2022 You will make recommendations to management and channel director regarding potential challenges or issues on a case-by-case basis, offering solutions and pro-actively scheduling joint sales calls. \n\u2022 You will train distributors on how to use internal programs such as Vista, Bid Manager, and the Commitments program\n\n## Qualifications:\n\nRequired (Basic) Qualifications: \n\u2022 Bachelor\u2019s degree from an accredited institution \n\u2022 Minimum 3 years of experience working in the electrical industry \n\u2022 Eaton will not consider applicants for employment immigration sponsorship or support for this position. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc. \n \n\n\nPreferred Qualifications: \n\u2022 Strong electrical industry and product knowledge \n\u2022 Distribution knowledge and/or experience \n\u2022 Strong product line knowledge \n\u2022 Minimum 3 years in a commercial assignment, and 1 year in a DSR function or minimum 3 years in an outside sales role with distributor responsibility \n\u2022 Strong key channel relationships and knowledge of major accounts within the sales territory \n\u2022 Understand sales process and channel relationships with limited internal oversight\n\nThe Driver Safety policy requires employees who drive on company business to maintain a valid driver\u2019s license and maintain an acceptable driving record\n\n## Skills:\n\n\u2022 Ability to learn/teach electronic/computer processes \n\u2022 Strong interpersonal and communication skills \n\u2022 Ability to resolve conflict effectively \n\u2022 Ability to make regular visits to distributor locations within the territory \n\u2022 Ability to establish and build customer relationships within the market area \n\u2022 Eaton electrical product, service, and market knowledge \n\u2022 Possess presentation, training and planning skills \n\u2022 Demonstrate an understanding of markets/industry issues and key trends\n\nThe compensation range for this full-time position includes base pay and target sales performance incentive. This position has a target total compensation range of $107,500 - $181,000.\n\nBase salaries are based upon candidate skills, experience, and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.\n\nWe are committed to ensuring equal employment opportunities for all job applicants and employees.
