POSITION SUMMARY

The District Director of DC Operations is responsible for leading 7-10 DC's and is accountable to drive daily execution across all key performance metrics in Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Talent while living the Blueprint.
The role shall be responsible to define lead initiatives to reduce process waste, deploy business tools and standards, and ensure all internal external operational requirements are being met.
In addition, this role shall be integral in the deployment and compliance of standardized operations though SOPs, playbooks, and problem solving (KT) process that drive true process excellence.
This role should drive a high level of urgency in resolving performance gaps to customer service and DC operations to ensure actions are in place to resolve.
Finally, this role should form a strong partnership with sales, Wolf Logistics, and other key stakeholders to ensure organizational/customer needs are met.
This role will drive training of DC Managers, warehouse process improvement initiatives and support across the PrimeSource distribution network. This role shall work collaboratively across distribution and supply chain operations to implement rapid change; be hands-on team builder and lead teams through improvement and standardization of processes.

Essential Functions Statement(s)

Drive collaboration and function as "agent of change" across distribution operations with a focus on delivering operational improvements in cost reduction and standardize best practices (SOPs) across the network.
Assesses training and development needs through observation, focus groups, on-site job analysis and communication with managers while developing a robust talent pipeline.
Partner with the regional sales teams to ensure customer needs are being met and work collaboratively to elevate service across all DCs.
Identifies, develops, and enhances training material, processes, and procedures by working with onsite management by identifying areas of opportunity.
Identify and propose enhancements and modifications to processes, procedures, and metrics to eliminate waste and drive operational efficiency and productivity.
Identifies root causes of problems and coaches through corrective action plans as needed.
Prioritize people's development at all levels; a key responsibility of this role is to support both present and future leaders; identify talented individuals and future potential with coaching and career pathway planning.
Serve as a conduit for the flow of information and change throughout operations. Coordinate communication activities that highlight and publicize plans, goals, and results.
Driver of Lean leadership and performance management as a strong discipline to ensure that the process excellence culture is well respected and sustained; provide coaching/guidance in Lean.
Lead facilitation and execute focused improvement events through structured problem solving.
Lead deployment and maintenance of SOPS to ensure all distribution sites perform according to defined guidelines and policies. Ensure compliance to all SOPs while ensuring a strong audit process is plan to manage any process gaps.
Train, coach, and mentor new and current managers, while fostering the company's value and blueprint.
Will need to be available to provide coverage to DC operations in times of transition and/or if management is absent from the facility.
Work across supply chain organization to problem solve and ensure robust solutions are identified.

Organization Competencies

EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred. Subjects: Supply Chain, Logistics, Business

REQUIREMENTS

5+ years' experience in leading multiple sites with demonstrated ability to drive performance and execution to meet business objectives.
