Position Overview

As the Director you will lead, develop, support, and audit the multiple residential sites across the metro within the 24-HR Community Residential Setting (CRS) program at Residential Transitions Inc. The CRS department serves participants with a diagnosis of a mental illness, developmental disabilities and/or brain injuries. This role will supervise program managers and work with the executive team to ensure the department is delivering and implementing the highest level of care and support to the individuals served by each program. The Director will analyze all levels of each site within the program to guarantee that Residential Transitions Inc is fulfilling its mission to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving the highest level of independence.

 

Role Responsibilities:


  • Supervise managers and directors to guide and assist with the training, development, hiring, and performance management of the staff at each residential site.

  • Serve as one of the Designated Managers for 245D licensing and will be responsible for programs under their direction to be compliant and accurate with licensing requirement timelines and documentation.

  • Manage and maintain staff training requirements, congruent with applicable licensing requirements.

  • Responsible for decision-making processes related to selection and admission of new participants to RTI’s CRS program.

  • Provide oversight over 24-HR Support Services, including evaluation of participants in mental health crisis and implementing crisis intervention plans. Provides direction to Mental Health Workers on how to respond to verbal and/or physically aggressive behavior.

  • Develop and renews required documentation of each participant and licensed facility, including person-centered-plans for each person served and service authorization renewal documents such as 6790’s, rate exceptions, and cost documentation. 

  • Provide 1:1 direct client care and participate in on-call rotation as needed.

Physical & Mental Requirements: 

Employees in this role must be able to:


  • Walk, stand, sit, bend, climb stairs, use a ladder, and perform crisis prevention/intervention techniques.

  • Use hands for writing, typing, data entry, and medication dispensing.

  • Lift up to 40 lbs. and occasionally exert physical effort during duties.

  • Maintain vision and hearing necessary for reading charts, operating office equipment, using a computer, and driving a vehicle.

  • CRS programs operate 24/7 and require strong leadership presence and availability.

  • Position involves exposure to high-behavior situations, mental health crises, and occasional physical intervention.

  • May require standing, walking, lifting, and responding quickly during emergencies.

  • Requires flexibility to support program needs during staffing shortages or critical incidents.


Required Qualifications:


  • Have a passion for improving the life of the individuals we serve.

  • Be able to pass a Department of Human Services background check.

  • Work in a person-centered approach.

  • Organize and work independently.

  • A valid driver’s license and have a satisfactory driving record.

  • Have a working vehicle with valid auto insurance.

  • Must be able to lift 40 lbs. or more.


Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Human Services, Psychology, Social Work, Sociology, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education, human services experience and supervisory experience considered.

 

Required Experience: Three (3) years of leadership experience supervising residential or similar programs. Experience with implementing 245D licensing requirements.

 

Position: Community Residential Setting (CRS) Division Director

Type: Full-Time Exempt

Compensation: $75,000-$94,000/year

Location: Office Setting in Mendota Heights, MN, travel to sites in the program throughout the Twin Cities metropolitan area required, with mileage reimbursement provided.
