Job Description - Divisional Project Manager - Atlanta or Arkansas

PotlatchDeltic Wood Products Division is seeking qualified professionals to be considered for a Divisional Project Manager opportunity to support our Lumber and Plywood operations. The individuals in these roles provide Project Management expertise to support capital investments across the division. PMs are assigned multiple projects to manage simultaneously. This role will primarily support our Arkansas facilities. Project support can also be required at sites outside of Arkansas dependent upon resource loading. This individual will work closely with site operations, equipment suppliers, and outside contractors to safely and successfully execute assigned projects. The individual will spend approximately 50-75% of travel time (Project dependent fluctuates). 

The salary range for this position is $99,825 - $166,375.00.

The compensation range represents the low and high end of the base compensation range for this position. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to location, experience, and performance.

This position is bonus eligible with a target value of 15% of salary.

Project Management:



  • Assist with the development and execution of capital projects for various plants inside the wood products division in a safe and timely manner.



  • Manage projects from ideation through commissioning.  This includes overseeing contractors during construction. 



  • Work with senior engineering and operations to ensure drawings meet company expectations and are ready for fabrication or construction.



  • Evaluate the problem/opportunity to scope a project, present options to solve the issue, create budgetary estimates for viable options, gain project funding approval, work with multiple engineering disciples, arrange bid events for equipment and services, compare/contrast bids, make technical purchasing recommendations, lead project review meetings, arrange equipment deliveries and contractor schedules, work with construction trades, arrange training between equipment OEMs and operations, transfer ownership of project to operations.



  • Ensures that engineering designs meet the project goals and scope. Schedules and conducts project review meetings in a timely and professional manner and provides reliable reports with follow up communications as necessary to complete the project design.



  • Provide project status updates to leadership.  This includes budget and schedule updates along with forecasted spending.



  • Track and gain approval for scope changes.



  • Manage project risks and update project risk registers.



  • Build relationships with vendors and attend trade shows to learn about new technologies.



  • Provide technical guidance to operations and field teams.



  • Travels to the sites and assists in startup and new equipment malfunction resolution, maintenance rebuilds and major capital projects.



  • Provide mentorship to the engineering internship program.



  • Files, organizes and maintains current project files and past records for assistance with future upgrades, equipment trouble shooting and warranty issues.



Safety:



  • Supports and assists with safety audits.



  • Supports facility safety procedures and practices.



  • Assists the facilities with safety projects and design layout.



  • Ensures the latest safety standards are incorporated into maintenance and capital projects.



Requirements


Minimum:



  • Minimum of five (5) or more years of Project Management, Project Engineering and/or Project Construction experience supporting manufacturing environments with a Total Installed Cost greater than $2M. 



  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project



  • Experience using AutoCAD and/or SolidWorks



  • Ability to see two-dimensional drawings in three dimensions



  • Ability to use computers and associated programs



  • Project Scoping, Project cost estimation, Project scheduling, Project forecasting



  • Project involvement from development through completion



  • Contractor management



  • Ability to organize and manage all project documentation



  • Willing and able to travel at least 50%-75% of the time (Project Dependent Fluctuates)



Preferred:



  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited college or university



  • Direct project experience in the wood and forest products industry



  • Project ownership of projects with a Total Installed Cost greater than $25M



  • Within close proximity to our Arkansas manufacturing facilities



  • PMP designation



  • OSHA 10 or 30
