DME Lab Manager

Description

The DME Lab Manager is responsible for overseeing the efficient and compliant operation of the Lab at Vitalus Health. This role supervises the DME Specialist and DME Technician, ensuring seamless coordination of inventory management, equipment processing, patient support, and regulatory compliance. The Lab Manager ensures that all DME-related activities support high-quality patient care and contribute to the overall operational excellence of the organization. Must have experience in healthcare setting, preferably a respiratory, DME or sleep background.

Key Responsibilities: 

· Leadership & Team Management

• Supervise, mentor, and support DME Specialist and DME Technician.
• Foster a positive, collaborative work environment.
• Conduct performance evaluations, provide coaching, and facilitate professional development.

· Operational Oversight

• Oversee warehouse operations, including shipping and receiving sleep test devices and other DME.
• Ensure timely and accurate inventory management, including reordering and stock level monitoring.
• Monitor and maintain lab cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety standards.

· Patient & Customer Support

• Ensure accurate collection and maintenance of patient information.
• Oversee patient communication regarding appointments, device instructions, and inquiries.
• Develop and implement strategies to enhance patient satisfaction and customer experience.

· Data Management & Reporting

• Supervise data entry and maintenance in inventory and patient record systems.
• Review and approve operational and customer service reports.

· Compliance & Quality Assurance

• Monitor and enforce adherence to all regulatory and compliance standards (including HIPAA).
• Ensure complete and accurate patient documentation for billing and compliance.
• Conduct regular audits and process reviews to maintain quality and compliance.

· Process Improvement

• Identify and implement opportunities for workflow and process improvements.
• Participate in the development and revision of policies and procedures.
• Stay current with industry’s best practices and regulatory changes.

· 7. Collaboration & Support

• Collaborate with clinical, administrative, and logistics teams to ensure smooth operations and patient care.
• Provide support and training for new team members.
• Act as a liaison between the DME Lab and other departments.

Salary: 60k

Requirements

Qualifications:

• Experience healthcare management, business, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in DME management, inventory control, or healthcare operations.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Strong knowledge of DME processes, inventory management, and regulatory compliance (HIPAA, OSHA,      etc.).
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with DME management software, specifically Brightree, is required. Applications will not be      considered without Brightree experience. 
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Self- Motivated
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Working Conditions:

• On site at DME Lab Monday-Friday, with standard business hours.
• Occasional flexibility required for urgent operational needs.
• The work environment may include exposure to medical equipment and warehouse conditions.
