Job Description - DME Technician

Description

  

Join our team as a DME Technician and play a vital role in supporting patient care by managing the shipment, inventory, and maintenance of durable medical equipment (DME). In this in-house position, you’ll coordinate equipment deliveries, maintain a safe and organized lab, manage sleep test data, and ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently. You’ll work closely with clinical and administrative teams, utilize digital tools for workflow optimization, and uphold the highest standards of compliance and patient privacy. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, possess strong organizational and communication skills, and be eager to learn and contribute to growth in Vitalus Health. Must have experience in healthcare setting, preferably a respiratory, DME or sleep background.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Coordinate Shipments:
         Coordinate shipments of all DME using Brightree, utilizing drop ship or direct shipping methods as appropriate.
  • Lab Maintenance:
         Keep the lab clean, organized, and compliant with safety and regulatory standards.
  • Sleep Test Management:
         Download sleep tests for interpretation and ensure timely delivery to the  appropriate clinical staff.
  • Onsite Presence:
         Work in-house five days a week to provide consistent support and oversight of DME operations.
  • Inventory Management:
         Maintain accurate inventory counts of all DME supplies and equipment, and reorder as necessary to prevent shortages.
  • Digital Experience Monitoring (if applicable):
         Monitor and optimize digital tools and platforms used for DME management.
  • Reporting:
         Generate and deliver regular reports on inventory, shipments, and workflow efficiency.
  • Collaboration:
         Work closely with clinical, administrative, and logistics teams to ensure seamless patient care and equipment delivery.
  • Compliance:
         Ensure all activities comply with relevant healthcare regulations and privacy standards.

Requirements

  

  • Associate or bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in industry.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting; preferably a respiratory background or DME is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Self- Motivated
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to learn new software and systems quickly. Knowledge of Brightree Software is a plus.
  • Detail-oriented and committed to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations is a plus.
