Job Summary:

• The overall purpose of this position is to work on the PI Historian System for Energy

Distribution:

•Updating PI Asset Framework with new devices in accordance with ongoing capital project work•Updating PI Asset Framework devices in accordance with changes in the field•Working with end user to gather requirements from configuration and enhancement requests•Configuring PI Asset Framework to meet user requests•Building displays in PI Vision to meet user requests•Using Datalink to build excel documents to meet user requests•Assisting users in setting up and using Datalink and PIVision•Implementing procedures and processes to make work flow more efficient•Implementing changes to increase performance of PI system• While this position is primary focused on the PI Historian System, there will be other opportunities to work on/with the source SCADA system for PI Historian.• Effective communication skills are a must.

Preferred Knowledge (not required, just preferred)

• Proficiency in Excel• Oracle and SQL Server• SQL queries• Unix Shell Scripting• Windows PowerShell Scripting• Experience with PI Historian System (Asset Framework, PIVision, Datalink, etc).• Experience in Distribution and/or Transmission areas.• Knowledge of SmartGrid Technology: Distribution Automation Circuit Reconfiguration (DACR/FLISR), Volt VAR Optimization (VVO), Distributed Generation (DG), Energy Storage, Sensors, etc.• Knowledge of substation design and the electric utility grid operations• Familiarity with Controls and SCADA systems, including, but not limited to: RTU's, front-end processors, communications interfaces, and DMS interfaces• Experience with utility integrated communications networks

Minimum Requirements:

Education requirements:

• Associates Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications or related technical field or higher from an accredited college/university or high school diploma and two years related military or electric utility technical experience.

Work Experience:

• Three years DMS/EMS/SCADA experience with Associates Degree and Five years of experience with a high school diploma.

• Individuals with a bachelor's degree and 1 year of DMS/EMS/SCADA experience may be considered for entry into the organization at this level in addition to the DMS/EMS/SCADA experience noted above.

Detailed knowledge is required in two of the following areas:

• Application development• Operating System support• Computer system administration• Database technologies and support

Additional Requirements:

• Demonstrate detailed understanding of operational practices of applicable equipment and software in assigned areas of knowledge• Strong skills in communication, issue resolution, organization, and facilitation are essential.Solid understanding of the business unit / operating company systems is preferred.Experience with SCADA systems required.• Perform troubleshooting and problem resolution in assigned areas of knowledge.Provide after-hours support for the EMS/SCADA systems as needed.• Learning current technology utilized by Client and understanding how it applies to SCADA.• Able to understand basic Protection and Control application and the affect it has on overall SCADA.• Begins to gain an understanding of what each type of equipment is in the substation with guidance from higher-level team member.
