Job Description - Dog Daycare Specialist

  • Do you speak fluent dog?
  • Can you spot the difference between a playful pounce and a “this might get spicy” body slam?
  • Do you clean up a mess you didn’t make—just because it helps the team?

If so, you might be exactly who we’re sniffing out.

At Four-Legged Fun Zone, part of Tailored Pet Services, we turn barking into bonding, chaos into structured play, and good dogs into tired, happy pups. Our team is small, supportive, and full of people who show up, step up, and treat every dog like family—and every shift like it matters.

We don’t micromanage here. Everyone pulls their weight because they want to—not because someone’s watching.

If that sounds like your kind of place, read on.

Before You Apply—Let’s Talk Experience

To be considered, you must meet all three of these requirements:

  1. You’ve supervised off-leash groups of dogs at least 3 times per week as a regular part of your job for 12 consecutive months.
  2. That experience happened in a single, team-based role that lasted at least 12 months (not pieced together from shorter gigs).
  3. Your qualifying experience must have occurred within the past 2 years.

Examples of qualifying roles:

  • Dog daycare with structured group play
  • Animal shelter or kennel with daily group yard time
  • Veterinary clinic with supervised playgroups

This Job Isn’t for You If…

  • You’ve only ever watched one dog at a time (this job = 10+ dogs, off-leash, in motion)
  • You helped with group play once a week—or once in a while—but weren’t the main handler
  • Your group-handling experience ended back in 2022 (we need recent reps)
  • You’ve bounced around jobs every few months (we’re looking for 12+ consecutive months in one role)
  • You did Rover, Wag, or pet sitting solo—but never worked with a team or handled group play
  • You think your own dogs count as “professional experience” (sorry—your pack’s adorable, but no)
  • You live more than 15 miles from Everett and hope traffic will be kind (it won’t—this role needs dependable morning arrivals)
  • You need reminders to stay on task—or only hustle when a manager walks by
  • You can’t stay off your phone during your shift (we use radios for communication so everyone stays focused and hands-free)
  • You’re not available Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM (this isn’t a pick-your-hours gig)

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise off-leash play and keep pups safe, happy, and engaged
  • Monitor behavior and intervene before little issues become big ones
  • Rotate playgroups in and out of indoor/outdoor spaces
  • Feed lunches and make sure every pup gets what they need
  • Clean up pee, poop, drool, and anything else that hits the floor—this is a dog daycare, after all
  • Communicate clearly with your team and help keep things drama-free
  • Work both indoors and outdoors (yes, even in the rain)

What We’re Looking For

  • Reliable, focused, and ready to hustle without being asked
  • Calm, confident, and quick to respond when dogs get rowdy
  • Physically able to lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet all day
  • Strong communicator who values teamwork over ego
  • Available Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

What You’ll Get

  • $18-$20 per hour starting wage
  • Performance bonuses and regular raises
  • Paid sick leave—including mental health days
  • Discounts on grooming, and vacation care
  • A team that trusts you to do the job well—and appreciates when you do

Work-Life Balance—with Boundaries

Everyone on our team deserves time to rest and recharge. That’s why we only allow one person off at a time—so the rest of the team isn’t left scrambling.

If you tend to call out more than once a month or expect time-off approvals regardless of coverage, this isn’t the right fit. Our clients (and their pets) rely on us—and we rely on each other.

Ready to Apply?

If you’re experienced, dog-savvy, and looking for a team that values consistency, communication, and care—we’d love to hear from you.

Just make sure you meet all three experience requirements above before applying. 🐶
