Overview

Four-Legged Fun Zone in Everett, WA is seeking a Dog Daycare Wrangler Level 1 to join our team. This is not an entry-level “play with dogs” role — you must already have professional experience managing off-leash dog groups.

As a Level 1 Wrangler, you’ll run safe, structured play once dogs are assigned to groups, keeping energy balanced and dogs engaged. Level 2 Wranglers handle group assignments — your focus is running your group with confidence, awareness, and care.

Compensation

1. Most wranglers earn $20–$24/hour (base + bonuses) once managing groups of 6+ dogs.
2. Base pay: $18/hour (covers days with very small groups).
3. Group bonuses:

• +$15/day when safely managing 6–10 dogs (adds ~$2/hour).
• +$30/day when managing 11+ dogs (adds ~$4/hour).

Responsibilities

• Supervise off-leash playgroups of 8–15 dogs safely and confidently.
• Monitor body language, redirect arousal, and prevent conflicts before they start.
• Follow rotation schedules — moving dogs in/out efficiently.
• Clean up pee, poop, drool, and anything else that hits the floor.
• Support enrichment activities (bubbles, agility, brain games).
• Communicate clearly with your team to keep things drama-free.
• Work both indoors and outdoors (yes, even in the rain).

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 12 consecutive months professional experience handling off-leash groups (daycare, shelter, kennel, or vet setting).
• Experience must be recent — within the past 2.5 years (2023 to present).
• Comfortable managing groups of 8+ dogs at a time.
• Physically able to lift 50 lbs and stay on your feet 6–8 hours/day.
• Calm, reliable, and punctual — your team depends on you.
• Available Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM.
• Able to work outdoors in all weather.

This Job Isn’t for You If…

• Your only experience is Rover, Wag, or solo pet sitting.
• You’ve only ever handled one dog at a time.
• Your last group-handling role ended before 2023.
• You need reminders to stay on task, or only hustle when a manager walks by.
• You live more than 15 miles from Everett and hope traffic will be kind (it won’t).
• You’re looking for “play with dogs” — this is a professional role with safety responsibilities.
