Job Responsibilities:
- Coordinate with transportation providers (LTL, FTL, courier, etc.) to ensure timely pickup and delivery of shipments across the U.S.
- Communicate with internal teams, vendors, and customers to manage logistics expectations and resolve delivery issues.
- Review purchase orders and shipping documents for accuracy and completeness prior to release.
- Create and maintain accurate domestic shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOL), packing lists, and carrier labels.
- Monitor shipment progress, identify delays or discrepancies, and work with carriers to resolve issues quickly.
- Maintain shipping schedules, track deliveries, and report delays or cost issues to management.
- Assist with freight claims and coordinate resolution with carriers when shipments are damaged or lost.
- Support the logistics team in managing freight spend and ensuring budget alignment.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to enhance logistics efficiency and reduce costs.
- Work with purchasing and warehouse teams to coordinate outgoing and incoming shipments.
- Apply working knowledge of domestic shipping regulations and carrier requirements.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 2–3 years of experience in domestic logistics coordination or transportation planning.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with a focus on collaboration and issue resolution.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook, SharePoint).
- Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
- Familiarity with shipping documentation and carrier portals (FedEx, UPS, LTL platforms, etc.).
- Working knowledge of Incoterms 2020 as they relate to domestic transactions is a plus.
- Knowledge of ERP or shipping systems (such as Microsoft Dynamics, KwikTag, etc.) is preferred.
- Experience reviewing freight rates, negotiating pricing, and selecting cost-effective routing options is a plus.
