Donations Assistant

The Donations Assistant is a support position in the Development Team, responsible for assisting with the successful operations of the Pet Resource Center, distribution of supplies to the Adoption Center, and processing of donations in the database. This position reports to the Development Officer and works closely with the Adoption Center Admin & Volunteer Coordinator, as well as the Executive Director. While this is considered an entry-level position, some experience with customer service is expected. Job duties include:

• Sort and catalog all in-kind (non-cash) donations.


• Stock the Pet Resource Center (PRC) weekly with new donations.


• Work with the AC Admin Coordinator for the types of supplies the AC needs which donations might satisfy; transport as needed.


• Record all monetary and non-cash donations in the donations database, including those coming through the clinic as point-of-sale donations.
  


• Respond to customer inquiries and process PRC sales.


• Provide pleasant, accurate, and courteous customer service to customers asking about veterinary care.


• Ensure acknowledgments for donations go out within 24 hours on business days.


• Provide event support for adoption clinics, presentations, or other public-facing promotional opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• High school diploma or equivalent


• valid Alaska's driver's license


• Minimum of 1 yr. prior  customer service experience. NOTE: delivery driver does not count for our purposes.


• Prior experience with data entry and database use


• Excellent written and oral communication skills
