We're looking for a Donor Relations Officer to join our team! The Donor Relations Officer focuses on stewarding and engaging first-time donors, ensuring each gift is acknowledged with care and intention. The Officer will help cultivate lasting relationships through thoughtful thank-you communications, donor tours, receptions, and events that deepen our supporters' connection to our mission.
The position will report to the Donor Relations Manager.
Monday through Friday, 8:30a-5:00p, salary and exempt.
Pay is 55k annually.
Supervisory responsibilities:
None.
Responsibilities: Donor Stewardship & Engagement
Serve as the primary point of contact for first-time donors giving up to $1,000 annually
Engage current and prospective corporate partners to grow workplace giving philanthropic support by conducting personalized outreach, presentations, and in-person meetings.
Steward/cultivate donors through phone calls, handwritten notes/updates and provide tours of the campus as needed for increased engagement and long-term support.
Represent A Kid’s Place as a speaker to groups and community events to raise awareness and funds for the organization.
Effectively utilize Virtuous (CRM) to maintain records of contacts with donors and prospects.
Collaborate with Donor Relations Manager for cultivation and stewardship of annual donors
Event Support & Coordination
Assist with the planning and execution of donor receptions and stewardship events
Attend and represent A Kid’s Place at community and networking events to foster donor engagement and brand visibility
Other Duties/Responsibilities
Provide administrative and logistical support for development initiatives
Collaborate with the development team to align donor messaging and reinforce the organization’s voice and values in marketing materials.
Coordinate and conduct campus tours to help donors see their impact firsthand
Perform other duties assigned.
Assist with content for an annual report, print newsletter, website, AKP Thrift and marketing materials as needed.
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree preferred and/or equal or higher amount of working experience.
3+ years of professional development experience in a nonprofit fundraising setting environment.
Must pass DCF background screening and have a valid driver’s license.
Fundraising and special event coordination experience preferred.
Proven experience creating content and maintaining social media accounts.
Proficient with Microsoft Office, Canva, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
Exceptional communication abilities, presentation skills and customer service.
Rigorous attention to detail and keen problem solving skills.
Ability to multi-task and meet simultaneous deadlines.
Must maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Effective and creative writing skills.
Hard working, self-starter.
Must be flexible with their schedule and be available on nights and weekends when needed.
Maintain a professional demeanor to all staff and external parties.
Must be reliable, punctual, flexible and a team player.
The ability to work and comply with all EEOC rules collaboratively, respectfully and to accepting constructive criticism from management with dignity and respect.
