The Donor Services Manager strategically identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards primarily major gift donors ($5,000+ annually), and secondarily, those who support St. John’s Ministries through planned gift commitments (estate giving) and recurring gifts (monthly donors). This role ensures personalized, timely interactions that foster meaningful and lasting philanthropic relationships. To effectively convey the mission, impact, and future opportunities of St. John’s Ministries, the Donor Services Manager will continuously deepen their understanding of the organization and those it serves.
Key Responsibilities:
Develop a Pipeline of Major Gift Donors
Prioritize outreach to donors with the capacity and interest to give $5,000+ annually.
Schedule and lead meetings and tours with prospective donors and community connectors.
Explore the giving inclination of potential major gift donors to assess their giving capacity and interest.
Manage a Portfolio of Engaged Donors
Provide personalized engagement with assigned prospects, building meaningful connections that are likely to strengthen their philanthropic support of the organization.
Make direct, personalized solicitations to secure support for organizational priorities, followed by effective stewardship and cultivation for future giving.
Advance Documentation and Donor Research
Utilize donor data to generate reports that guide prioritization.
Research prospects and donors beyond the information provided in the database.
Record direct communication, outreach attempts, research insights, and consistent coding in the donor database, including detailed contact reports from meaningful interactions.
Lead the Planned Giving and Recurring Giving Programs
Develop and sustain focused planned giving and recurring gift programs by setting clear strategic visions and prioritized actions.
Create educational material for prospective donors and stewardship to recognize those who make commitments as planned gift donors and as monthly donors.
Identify, cultivate, and ask for planned gifts and recurring gifts from individuals who show inclination.
Direct Donor Communications Projects
Produce personalized proposals and impact reports for major donors, collaborating on special donor projects with the Director of Development.
Support stewardship through tailored updates and acknowledgments.
Additional Responsibilities
Represent St. John’s Ministries at events and outreach activities to engage current and prospective donors in the community.
Maintain a presence at shelters and resource centers to effectively communicate the organization’s direct services and the people it serves in donor meetings and community outreach.
Actively participate in work groups and team initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience:
Bachelor's Degree or 4- 8 years equivalent experience in a related field
Experience in fundraising, development, or donor relations, with a preferred background in major gift fundraising and/or fundraising program management, desired.

Passion for the mission and population served by St. John’s Ministries.
Ability to report to work at our various locations.
Must be flexible in working hours as evening and weekends are required on occasion.
Physical Demands:
Work Location: Regularly required to sit, stand, and walk. Occasionally required to lift and or move up to 20 pounds.
Computer Use: Perform administrative tasks involving typing and computer use.
Work Environment:
Professional Setting: Operate in a professional office environment using standard office equipment.
Safety Protocols: Follow safety protocols, including the use of PPE, to minimize health risks.
Supplies: Cleaning supplies are utilized to help prevent the spread of cold and flu viruses, ensuring a healthier environment for everyone.
