Door Fabricators (JM1-JM3)

Position Summary:

Talent Source is seeking experienced Door Fabricators (JM1 & JM2) to join shipyard manufacturing projects in San Diego. These roles involve assembling and fabricating metal doors, hatches, and closure systems from preformed raw materials and machined parts according to blueprints and production specifications. Candidates should have hands-on experience with welding, fitting, and working from detailed measurements, with JM2 representing an intermediate level and JM1 an entry-level role with opportunities for advancement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Fabricate and assemble doors, hatches, and closure systems per blueprints and job specifications


• Fit, align, and tack components in preparation for welding


• Operate fabrication tools including grinders, drills, and related equipment


• Read and interpret blueprints, measurements, and weld symbols to ensure precision


• Follow and promote all company safety policies and wear required PPE


• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safety within the production area


• (JM2) Train, guide, or assist JM1 Fabricators in learning advanced fabrication processes


• (JM1) Support JM2 Fabricators and learn intermediate-level fabrication techniques

Required Qualifications:

JM1:

• 1+ year of fabrication or welding experience preferred


• Basic understanding of blueprints and measurements


• Willingness to learn door/closure fabrication processes


• Ability to use grinders, drills, and hand tools safely

JM2:

• Certified Welder (required)


• Minimum of 3+ years of door or closure fabrication experience


• Proficient in blueprint reading, fitting, and fabrication techniques


• Able to troubleshoot welding/fabrication equipment as needed

General Requirements (Both Levels):

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding work


• Basic English communication skills (verbal and written)


• Must provide a valid export document (U.S. Birth Certificate, Passport, or Permanent Resident Card) for E-Verify and contract compliance

Schedule & Compensation:

• Full-time, 40 hours per week


• Occasional overtime or weekend work as required


• Pay Range: $21.00–$33.00/hour (based on experience)
