ABOUT THE SECTION
Established by the California state legislature in 2019, the mandate of the new Bay Area Housing Finance Authority (BAHFA) is to create regional solutions that meet the Bay Area's affordable housing needs. BAHFA is one of the first regional housing finance authorities in California, with a focus rooted in the 3Ps framework. Specifically: protection for current residents to avoid displacement, preservation of existing housing affordable to lower-and middle-income residents, and production of new affordable housing. The goal of this framework is to make sure housing is available for all Bay Area residents, no matter their income.
ABOUT THE ROLE
The Doorway Listings Coordinator works with affordable housing owners, operators, and local jurisdiction staff across the nine-county Bay Area to draft and publish listings on the Doorway Housing Portal (DHP). This role manages listings for new developments undergoing full lease-up, as well as for existing buildings as units become available for re-leasing.
The Coordinator also supports key DHP processes related to pre-applications, including managing applications and administering housing lotteries. This work is critical to ensuring the DHP remains a valuable resource for both housing seekers and our professional partners, such as property owners and manager, and local cities and counties.
For more about DHP, see housingbayarea.org.
