Job Description - DOT Coordinator

Tri-City Group is currently seeking a DOT Coordinator for an immediate opening in Davenport, IA.  The DOT Coordinator is responsible for ensuring full compliance with federal and state DOT regulations, managing driver qualification processes, administering training programs, and maintaining accurate compliance records. This role partners closely with HR, Safety, and Operations to implement proactive systems that support safe and compliant driving practices across the organization.


 


Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:



  • Stay current on all DOT regulatory changes and ensure organizational compliance

  • Collaborate with operations to implement proactive compliance systems and processes

  • Partner with the Safety Director to implement policies and training initiatives

  • Coordinate with Human Resources in maintaining Driver Qualification files and drug and alcohol program compliance

  • Participate in monthly calls and ongoing training sessions

  • Maintain and update training materials as needed

  • Maintain and communicate an up-to-date “approved drivers” list to Safety and Operations

  • Conduct regular self-audits: driver files (quarterly) and vehicle files (semi-annually)

  • Review traffic violations and incidents; provide recommendations for corrective actions

  • Maintain regular communication with management and staff

  • Provide mentorship and support to employees


 


This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM -5:00 PM.  Occasional changes to the work schedule may be required as job duties demand.


 


Qualifications:



  • High school diploma or GED

  • Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance requirements

  • Experience with driver qualification files and safety programs preferred

  • Strong organizational and record-keeping skills

  • Ability to manage multiple compliance processes simultaneously

  • Experience working with LMS platforms and compliance tracking systems preferred
