Job Description - Downtown Next Steps Director

Description

POSITION:

Reporting to the Downtown Location Director, the Downtown Next Steps Director has the primary responsibility of growing and building dynamic teams that implement the systems and strategies to successfully reach, retain, engage, and deploy followers of Jesus at their location. This position oversees Next Steps, Empowerment Track, Prayer Team, and Groups, as well as contributes to the growth and health of the location by assisting the DT Location Pastor with operations and campus leadership.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Campus Leadership

• Develop and grow the Next Steps, Empowerment Track, Prayer, and Groups teams and their coaches.

• Be the primary overseer of the Next Steps follow-up process for all Empowerment track graduates at the location, as well as gathering and reporting all important metrics/measurables for E-track.

• Regularly initiate/engage in conversations with the Location Pastor and staff team on next steps, engagement successes, and challenges at the location.

• Partner with Downtown Location Pastor in the recruitment, selection, onboarding, training, and evaluation/retention of all group leaders at the location.

• Oversee the group engagement, facilitation, and tracking (metrics) processes for NLC members at the location.

• Provide responsible leadership for the registration process and follow up on all Baptism Weekends.

• Ensure the Next Steps follow-up strategy, processes, and data input at the Downtown location are being successfully completed.

• Develop strong relationships with other location leaders/coaches and volunteers of other non-direct report ministry teams.

Weekend Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for any problems or concerns that arise during services.

• Facilitate clear, consistent communication with weekend Next Steps, Empowerment Track, and Prayer teams.

• Serve as a communication liaison between the Prayer team and appropriate staff members on behalf of location members.

• Assist with facilities/operations of and execute decisions as needed for various events occurring on or off campus (including setup and teardown), such as weekend services, Team Nights, baptism, serve days, or other events.

• Demonstrated ability to develop systems

• Effective communication skills.

• Handles conflict quickly, efficiently, and discreetly.

• Quick yet thoughtful decision-making skills.

• Able to formulate solutions when problems are encountered.

• Ability to effectively self-manage time.

• Able to fluidly shift from ‘big picture’ thinking to detailed execution.

• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office and able to learn other technologies as required.

• High school diploma or GED required.

• Must be able to communicate fluently in English. Fluency in other languages is a plus.

TIME COMMITMENT:

  • Full-time staff are expected to work at least 40 - 45 hours per week as directed, including weekends or after normal business hours when needed.
  • Participate in weekly staff gatherings, monthly staff chapels, yearly staff retreats, and other all-staff gatherings throughout the year.
