Dozer Operator

Job Title: Dozer Operator - Civil Division 

Job Type: Full-Time 

Overview: Merritt Contracting, a leading player in civil construction, is seeking skilled Dozer Operators to join our Civil Division. This role is pivotal in shaping the landscapes of our various projects. We value candidates who have a solid background in operating dozers but also welcome operators with experience in other machinery to enhance our team's versatility. 

Key Responsibilities: 

• Operate dozer and other heavy equipment to complete construction projects efficiently. 


• Interpret project plans and grading specifications to meet precise construction requirements. 


• Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment to ensure functionality and safety compliance. 


• Collaborate with other crew members to ensure tasks are completed in alignment with project goals. 


• Adjust equipment settings and operate machines according to the conditions of the site and project needs. 


• Maintain cleanliness and basic maintenance of equipment to ensure its longevity and reliability. 


• Report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns to the supervisor immediately. 


• Assist with other machine operations as needed to support project requirements. 

Qualifications: 

• Proven experience operating dozers in a civil construction environment. 


• Additional experience with other construction machinery (e.g., excavators, graders, loaders) is highly valued. 


• Strong understanding of construction operations and safety standards. 


• Ability to read and understand construction drawings and specifications. 


• Excellent coordination and mechanical skills. 


• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic. 


• Physical stamina and the ability to work in various outdoor conditions.
