Position Summary

Total Wrecking & Environmental is seeking an experienced Dozer / Site Work Operator to join our field operations team.

This position is responsible for safely and efficiently operating dozers and other heavy equipment on demolition, environmental, earthwork, site preparation, and site restoration projects.

The ideal candidate has strong site-work experience and is skilled in rough and finish grading, cut and fill, backfilling, site clearing, haul-road construction and maintenance, material handling, and final site restoration.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Safely operate dozers and other heavy equipment on demolition, earthwork, environmental, and site-work      projects.
• Perform rough and finish grading to required elevations, slopes, and drainage specifications.
• Push, spread, cut, fill, level, and compact soil, stone, aggregate, demolition debris, and other      materials.
• Perform excavation support, backfilling, site clearing, and final site restoration.
• Construct and maintain haul roads, ramps, work pads, laydown areas, and equipment access routes.
• Maintain safe working surfaces for excavators, loaders, trucks, cranes, and other equipment.
• Push, spread, stockpile, segregate, and manage demolition debris and recyclable materials.
• Read and understand grade stakes, elevations, slopes, site plans, and field markings.
• Work safely around active demolition operations, personnel, utilities, and other heavy equipment.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report mechanical or safety concerns.
• Perform routine operator-level maintenance, cleaning, fueling, and lubrication.
• Follow all company safety policies, project work plans, JSAs, and site-specific requirements.
• Participate in daily safety meetings and pre-task planning.
• Assist with other equipment and field operations when qualified and needed.

 Qualifications & Experience

• Previous experience operating dozers on earthwork, site development, demolition, heavy civil, environmental, industrial, or similar projects.
• Strong experience with grading, cut and fill, backfilling, site clearing, and haul-road maintenance.
• Ability to safely operate in active jobsites with multiple pieces of equipment and personnel.
• Demolition and debris-handling experience is preferred.
• Strong situational awareness and commitment to safe equipment operation.
• Dependable, team-oriented, and able to follow verbal and written instructions.
• Willing to travel to project locations as required.

Physical & Work Requirements

• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
• Ability to climb into and out of heavy equipment and sit for extended periods while operating.
• Ability to safely work on uneven, rough, muddy, or unstable terrain.
• Ability to wear all required PPE.
• Ability to work extended hours, weekends, or varying schedules when required.
