We drive innovation to ensure our cutting-edge solutions are helping to solve the biggest challenges in the semiconductor industry. \n\n## The impact you\u2019ll make\n\nAs a Drafter/Designer, you\u2019ll play a significant role in shaping next\u2011generation hardware solutions by applying your expertise in mechanical design and manufacturing techniques. In this role, you will translate engineering concepts into manufacturable solutions that improve product performance, reliability, and cost, while setting best practices in design excellence and supporting Lam\u2019s delivery of high\u2011performance semiconductor equipment.\n\n## What you\u2019ll do\n\n * Design and develop precise mechanical parts and subassemblies, and create layouts to support product design and technology development while adhering to established engineering standards, best practices, and DFx principles.\n * Document and release engineering drawings and Bills of Materials (BOMs) through Engineering Change Management and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems.\n * Collaborate with Product Engineering, Program Management, Manufacturing, Field Service, and Supply Chain to define design and cost requirements, conduct design reviews, and complete the full design cycle.\n * Create 3D electrical and pneumatic harness routing using CAD packages.\n\n\n\n## Who we\u2019re looking for\n\n * Associate or Bachelor\u0027s degree in Design/Engineering, or related field with 3+ years of experience; or an advanced degree with no previous professional experience; or equivalent experience.\n * Highly skilled in 3D CAD applications such as Siemens NX and AutoCAD.\n * Proficient in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) systems like SAP and Teamcenter.\n * Fundamental understanding of mechanical engineering, engineering/design methods and processes, and engineering drawing.\n * Solid knowledge of sheet metal design and fabrication, metal machining, and casting processes.\n * Strong understanding of various material properties and their coatings and finishes.\n * Solid knowledge of welding symbols, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD\u0026T) symbols, surface finish, and American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) drafting standards.\n * Keen understanding of and experience with large assembly management methodologies and concurrent engineering principles.\n * Proficient in Microsoft Office 365 applications including CoPilot and Teams, Adobe Acrobat.\n\n\n\n## Preferred qualifications\n\n * Prior experience in the semiconductor equipment industry.\n * Experience in global cross-functional teams within a matrix organization.\n * Excellent communication, both written and verbal, and technical presentation skills.\n\n\n\n## Our commitment\n\nWe believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. Our hybrid roles combine the benefits of on-site collaboration with colleagues and the flexibility to work remotely and fall into two categories \u2013 On-site Flex and Virtual Flex. \u2018On-site Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 3+ days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, with the opportunity to work remotely for the balance of the week. \u2018Virtual Flex\u2019 you\u2019ll work 1-2 days per week on-site at a Lam or customer/supplier location, and remotely the rest of the time.\n\n#LI-RSC1\n\nSalary\n\nCA San Francisco Bay Area Salary Range for this position: $32.21 - $63.46.\n\nThe above salary range for this position is relevant to applicants that reside or work onsite in the California, San Francisco Bay Area only. Salary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.
