Dream Center Family Outreach Director

SUMMARY 

To provide leadership, assistance and execution with major focus on the After School Program in the Columbus Dream Center Family Outreach Department. To ensure effectiveness and efficiency of the overall operations of the Dream Center Family Outreach in the Greater Columbus area

GENERAL DUTIES 

• Leader of Family Outreach programming specifically focused on After School programming in the Greater Columbus area, executing the vision of the Columbus Dream Center
• Assist in Brotherhood and Sisterhood Small Groups, Block Parties, and Community Small Groups 
• Provide oversight, leadership, and direction to the part time staff and volunteer leaders
• Grow the influence of the Columbus Dream Center in the Greater Columbus area
• Engage children grades kindergarten through twelfth grade in the Columbus Dream Center Family Outreach department
• Ensure part time staff and volunteers are creating a safe, clean, and age-appropriate environment for students in all programs in the Greater Columbus area
• Recruit new volunteers 
• Develop and mentor high quality leaders both spiritually and professionally
• Oversee the training and onboarding process for new volunteers
• Lead and build teams to execute all aspects of weekly programming 
• Consistent communication with key leaders to ensure alignment of policy and procedure 
• Build relationships with parents and families at specific program
• Respond to emergencies/urgent issues as they arise 
• Create systems that allow for long-term and ongoing influence in the lives of students and families 
• Organize and help execute Dream Center events (Including but not limited to Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter) 
• Perform any other tasks requested by Columbus Dream Center’s central team 
• Embrace the mission, vision, and values of Columbus Dream Center 
• Conscious of the need for confidentiality and discernment in sensitive situations 
• Steward the Dream Center’s resources 
• Participate in staff meetings and Family Outreach specific meetings 
• Support other Rock City and Dream Center ministries/programs/events as needed 
• Maintain personal spiritual development through Bible reading, prayer, and Christian community 
• Other duties as assigned

SKILLS/EXPERIENCE 

• Heart for children, parents, and communities 
• 1–3 years of hands-on experience working with children in grades K–8, including classroom support and/or youth programming, in either volunteer or professional positions.
• Operate with a spirit of excellence 
• Ability to communicate the Gospel through various means to children and adults 
• Demonstrated ability to effectively lead and motivate volunteer driven teams toward shared goals, ensuring collaboration, accountability, and high performance
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook. Must be willing to learn new programs and systems as needed 
• Administrative experience 
• Strong communication skills 
• Superior interpersonal skills working with a variety of people 
• Positive attitude and positive approach to problem solving. Must be solution-oriented 
• Good steward of time and resources 
• Self-starter and can champion new initiatives
