Anderson Environmental Contracting, LLC (AEC) is seeking a motivated and dependable Driller’s Assistant to join our drilling team.
The Driller’s Assistant supports drilling operations by helping prepare and maintain equipment, handling drilling materials and tooling, assisting the Driller, and performing general fieldwork. This is a physically active, hands-on position suited to someone who works well as part of a crew, follows instructions, and is committed to working safely.
Previous drilling or construction experience is helpful but not required for candidates who demonstrate a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
AEC is a growing environmental construction company based in Southwest Washington. Our projects are located throughout the Pacific Northwest, and out-of-area and overnight travel is required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Assist the Driller with the setup, operation, maintenance, and breakdown of drilling equipment and support vehicles.
Help mobilize and demobilize drilling rigs, tooling, materials, and supplies.
Load, unload, organize, and transport drilling tools and equipment.
Perform general labor and field-support activities as directed.
Assist with drilling operations using sonic, auger, direct-push, and other drilling methods.
Handle drill rods, tooling, soil samples, drums, casing, and other drilling materials.
Assist with the installation, completion, and abandonment of wells and boreholes.
Clean, inspect, and perform routine maintenance on drilling equipment, tools, and vehicles.
Help maintain an organized, professional, and safe worksite.
Complete required daily documentation, inspections, and safety forms accurately and on time.
Participate in daily tailgate meetings, job safety analyses, and other required safety activities.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, equipment concerns, incidents, injuries, and other irregularities.
Follow company policies, project requirements, and applicable safety regulations.
Maintain required training and certifications.
Perform other duties and project assignments as needed.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent.
Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a field crew.
Strong work ethic, dependability, and willingness to learn.
Commitment to following established safety procedures.
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather and site conditions.
Ability to perform physically demanding construction and drilling activities.
Willingness to work early mornings, extended shifts, or varying schedules when required by project conditions.
Willingness and ability to travel throughout the Pacific Northwest, including overnight and extended out-of-area assignments.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience in drilling, construction, environmental fieldwork, or a related industry.
Experience working around drilling rigs, heavy equipment, or construction machinery.
Familiarity with sonic, auger, or direct-push drilling methods.
Mechanical aptitude and experience maintaining or repairing tools and equipment.
Valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record.
Current 40-Hour HAZWOPER training and current 8-Hour Refresher.
Current First Aid and CPR certification.
