Overview / Job Summary:

Drive & Thrive is a community automotive assistance program that provides essential vehicle repairs for individuals facing significant financial or personal hardship. Automotive students work alongside an instructor supervisor during Saturday service events to complete safety and reliability repairs. The Drive & Thrive Project Manger is responsible for coordinating the program, including: scheduling repairs, triaging repairs, tracking repair progress, managing student time cards, and submitting reports. 

Your day-to-day responsibilities will vary, but are not limited to:

  • Coordinate and manage all operational aspects of the Drive & Thrive program, including scheduling repair appointments, organizing Saturday service events, and communicating with community participants
  • Perform initial vehicle intake and repair triage to determine program eligibility, scope of repairs, safety concerns, and feasibility of completion within program guidelines and available service timelines.
  • Provide limited hands-on automotive support activities as needed, including basic troubleshooting, battery replacement, jump-start assistance, and coordination of vehicle movement or towing logistics
  • Coordinate with automotive instructors, students, vendors, and community partners to ensure efficient repair planning, parts procurement, and service execution.
  • Order, track, and manage parts, supplies, and repair-related documentation to support timely completion of approved vehicle repairs.
  • Maintain accurate program records, including repair tracking, participant information, student participation records, invoices, and operational documentation.
  • Monitor and verify student employee time cards, attendance, and participation to ensure compliance with institutional payroll and student employment procedures.
  • Assist with collection, organization, and reporting of program metrics and outcomes for grants, community partnerships, institutional reporting, and program assessment.
  • Serve as the on-site operational coordinator during Saturday repair events, ensuring safe, organized, and professional program operations.
  • Coordinate transportation-related logistics, including towing, vehicle drop-off and pick-up arrangements, and communication with external service providers when necessary.
  • Ensure adherence to institutional safety procedures, shop policies, and program guidelines during all Drive & Thrive activities.
  • Track performance and monitors progress to ensure deadlines or revisions of the programs are met
  • Enforce and maintain compliance with all federal, state and local laws and ordinances
  • Perform other duties as assigned or deemed necessary
  • Comply with all organizational and departmental policies and procedures
  • Operate all job-related equipment, machinery, tools and other aids as required or needed
  • Protect and maintain any confidential information you have access to, whether oral, written, or electronic


Requirements

Position Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree required
  • Three years of experience in a progressive industry 
  • Previous experience in customer service required
  • Previous experience in Automotive Service industry preferred
  • Customer service, specifically regarding communication and conflict resolution
  • Familiarity with automotive service
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work
  • Ability to fulfill all duties with minimal supervision and to work independently
  • Assess situations rapidly and make logical decisions in a timely manner
  • Analyze facts and exercise sound judgment
  • Ability to effectively manage projects and multiple priorities simultaneously
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Problem solving and critical thinking skills
  • Ability to communicate in a professional, calm and courteous manner with the general public and employees
  • Attention to detail
