Position Summary:

Since 1961, the Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. The goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care. Today, over 55 years later, the product line has broadened to include cabinetry and storage solutions to help maximize the total home living space. As the final point of contact between the factory and our customer, this role will employ care and organizational skill to continue to make Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. the most valued provider of permanent home cabinets designed for a lifetime of gracious living.

The incumbent in this position supports the activities and responsibilities of the Transportation Department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Coordinates driver recruiting activities, to include but not limited to driver search, visits to CDL Schools, background checks and MVR reviews. Recommend new driver candidates to the Transportation Manager and Transportation Safety Manager.


• Responsible for assisting in the onboarding process for new hires. Coordinates with the Transportation Safety Manager on updating the New Driver Handbook and well as social media activities.


• Coordinates outside carrier support for both First Haven and Ashland Manufacturing facilities to cover loads not able to be covered by Wellborn drivers.


• Assist in load routing for both First Haven and Ashland Manufacturing facilities.


• Supports contacting customers for both First Haven and Ashland manufacturing facilities.


• Assist in updating reports as required.


• Perform duties of the backup to the Transportation Accounting Clerk.


• Other responsibilities as assigned and needed to support the business

Education and Experience                              

• High School Diploma or GED, Associates Degree or Higher is preferred.


• Demonstrated skills in planning, prioritizing and time management.


• Ability to prioritize multiple tasks and timely completion of tasks.


• Organization and planning


• Proficiency in Microsoft, with strong experience and knowledge of Excel


• Experience with an MRP system is a plus

Scope and Impact:

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.

This is primarily a 40-hour work schedule normally 7am to 3:30pm with the ability to work flexible schedules, including some evenings and weekends as needed for the business. Employee is subject to outside and inside environmental conditions, inside conditions frequently, with protection from weather conditions but not necessarily from temperature change. Must be able to endure the extreme heat of summer weather.
