COME & JOIN OUR TEAM!!! We are currently seeking Class A or B CDL drivers to collect yard or recycling waste. This is a year-round, full-time position where you will be assigned a collection route to navigate a garbage truck each day.
We have been in business for over 30 years and currently run a fleet of 15-20 trucks depending on the time of year. We are a small, family-owned company that is looking for additional drivers to join our growing team. Typical work weeks are 40 hours per week with seasonal overtime in the Spring and Fall. Monday through Friday with occasional Saturdays on holiday weeks.
Responsibilities Include:
- Use of GPS maps and routing software
- Must be able to read a map
- Safely operate a garbage truck
- Responsibly supervise helpers and truck
- Load and unload yard waste or other cargo
- Properly track and document activity log on computer tracking system with a tablet
- Report any issues or incidents to dispatch.
- Inspect truck before and after trip, wash truck, fill fluids, etc. Daily report to mechanic
- Must be able to work independently and coordinate with supervisors.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in garbage truck driving or other related fields
- Commercial driver's license with Air Brakes Endorsement
- Ability to handle physical workload, must be able to lift 75 pounds. Some routes utilize helpers, and some are run independently where the driver also does the collection.
- Strong work ethic, we need people that are at work every day and on time. Drivers need to arrive at 5:45am and the day is done when the routes are complete and navigate to your destination without the use of your smart phone. Sometimes you work with a helper and sometimes you have to work alone. Drive and collect at same time depending on size of route.
- Knowledge of truck and equipment safety and operation
- Ability to use computerized software on tablet for collection reporting.
- 1-2 years of Commercial Driving experience is a must, experience driving a garbage truck is a plus.
